ooooo, wanna sell it?
I was able to get a 2002 Mustang brochure with the Twin Towers before Ford asked the dealers to stop handing them out. [/b][/quote]
I have one of those brochures too

Oh and I saw people talking about the Bullitt Concept... well, here's more pics, taken by me when I was at the Ford Concept Car Christie's auction preview. It sold for $68,150

Thanks for the feedback crazy horse. Also do you think that with the bigger engine the sound of the obra will be different and by how much? You think it would sound throughtier?

np.

I don't really know about the sound. there are so many variable that influence that. I had a 5.4 in my Expedition. It was not a very throaty sound. The Cobra, if it even has a bigger engine, could be totally different. Things like intake, exhaust, bore and stroke and things I don't even understand about engines will all affect how it sounds. Even different aftermarket exhaust systems can change that. Personally I like a more "tuned" sound like you get from the Bassani exhaust system on the '03/'04 Cobra.

Whatever it sounds like, I am sure I will like it at first, then eventually want to change it to something louder and sportier.

Yeah its the same with any engine.
Tuning and intake/exhaust all make the difference.

Look at the 4.6 2v on the F150 and the 2v on the 99-04 GT
They sound completely different.

Ford sound engineered the new mustang as well, no doubt the cobra will have the same love

What aftermarket exaust will you be putting on the cobra if you got it, boomer and crazyhourse. I think im going with magnaflow without magnapacks, i think it will give it a nice throuhty sound with alittle drone but they sound reall nice. Is there a big diff. between bassini and magnaflows? I cant really tell by the sound clips.

I'm going to wait to hear each one on the new engine, regardless of which engine it gets. I liked both on the previous Cobras, but, like the Bassani a little better. It will probably be entirely different on the next one. I will likely buy an early production run (too impatient to wait), so I am hoping to hear some as soon as the cars hit the streets.

Here's a link to Edmunds future vehicles, they tell what they know about the next generation of Cobra. http://www.edmunds.com/future/2006/ford/mu...idenav..0.Ford*

The site loads up slow for me so here's what it says:
What Edmunds.com Says: The 2006 SVT Cobra should satisfy even the most extreme performance enthusiasts

What We Know: Ford will be adding the next-generation SVT Cobra to its lineup in 2006 on a limited production basis. The company plans on pulling out all the stops in constructing this Mustang-based monster, with numerous performance enhancements. The engine, which will be augmented by a supercharger, should produce just over 400-horsepower while yielding almost 430-lbs.-ft. of torque. Transmission is manual, of course. The suspension and brakes are said to improve upon the '03 Cobra, and the vehicle will be further tweaked with 18-inch chrome wheels.

...and no one has aver said anything about this, but will the MyColor be added onto it anyone think?

MyColor can be simple white gauges for all I care. I'll pass on judgement regarding the 18" wheels, although 17 x 9s w/275 is the best handling/ride combo I've ever had and would be fine with me. It's the 0 - 60 I care about. The low 4s would make all the particulars fall in place and an indication Ford took the Cobra challange seriously.

Yeah, the Cobra is about performance. I doubt the bells and whistles will be on there. The previous generation was not offered with Mach 1000 (or whatever it was called) sound system. In the past, the cobras were not offered many options. usually spoiler delete and chrome wheels only. My color probably doesn't add much weight or cost, so maybe it will be on there. Who knows.

try the exhaust sites. they probably have sound clips. Live, in person is the best way to compare. Go to the next open track event near you and ask the guys what they are running. I heard several at the last one I went to and felt the Bassani was the most impressive.

Rumors are all over this site. Past history hints at a few things (such as IRS).
Past history, nothing... it's been explicitly stated that the new S197 chassis is the first Mustang chassis designed from the ground up for both a solid rear axle and an independent rear suspension... why would they say something like that if they weren't intending to release a new Mustang variant with IRS?

And if any Mustang were to get IRS, it'd definitely be in their premium SVT model...

So I think even ignoring past history, there's plenty enough evidence to suggest the new SVT model will have IRS

None that I know of.

There is talk of an SMG auto coming. We saw pictures of a prototype (SN-95 version) with what looked like an SMG tranny and paddles.

If it does come, I hope it is an option, I want a standard manual.

yes, I have seen that also. What I mean by past history, is the Cobra has had IRS for years and should have it in the future. History also suggests SC V8, big wheels, (slightly) better seats, etc.

Bottom line is, we have no facts, just rumors and speculation. I would expect these things to be on it, but, we don't know.

There's a significant price difference between 17" and 18" wheels and tires which might be a factor Ford considers in their selection, not only for them to keep their costs down but for the owners' replacement costs as well.

The GT is, as it always has been, an engine/suspension upgrade to the base V6 model. While there are some minor "badging" modifications (GT badges on sides, GT badge on rear, standard spoiler) and Ford has taken the additional step of adding fog lights and a slightly different front bumper... the thing about the GT has always been that most of the extra cost is about getting a V8 instead of a V6, and whatever suspension mods you'd expect to go along with the extra horsepower. As such, I really, really doubt that the GT will get a hood scoop.

Even back in the heyday of hood scoops ('68-73?), they tended to come on the "premium" lines (Mach 1, Boss, etc.) So I think we'll continue to only really see them on those "premium" lines, and possibly the new SVT models as well, depending.

But the GT's about cheap performance, and an actually-functional hood scoop is an expense that, however minor, can be shaved for the sake of remaining the king of cheap horsepower.

On the MyColor remark, I know I'd take 0-60 in 4.2 over green guages anyday.
