Sweet mother of pearl!
Chris..do this..in this order or it will screw up..flatten the layers that make up the arm. select the part you want to move. Copy that selection THEN in your history go back to just before the flattening then above all the layers Paste the arm back in to place..You should have the arm spread across the layers and a single fully intact arm above all of them on a layer of it's own. Then you can Group all the arm part layers into a folder with the newly pasted arm outside of the folder and then add a layer mask to the Folder it'self and mask/erase out the old position....position the new arm and then paint in the fill where the arm was.
Make sence?

thanx Andy!
Lets hope it gets done for the show!

also chris one this I found that helps alot..learned this in art school is to flip the image horizoantally and look at it to see if it needs any adjusting...do this a few times throughout the process and you can sometimes spot mistakes and fixe them before they become a 14 layer monster. Then just flip the image back when you see what you need to see.
yeah it makes sense...but i wish PS would just let me grab them like a do a single layer and just let me move it.
they think of everything but multilayer croping.
Yeah well i kinda knew it was out of proportion to start and was just being careless. but i'll give that a shot and see if there is somthing i am completly missing.

No, I just stick with either Photoshop or drawing with pencil/pen on paper.
I'm sure i could use other programs in conjuction with PS that would help but I'm either too stubborn or stupid to try.
