Wow Doug, that's an amazing amount of detail!

Is the eye design all in the same layer of many layers stacked on top?

What kind of brush stokes are you using?
(I need to know more of your secrets.)

The eye is done as follows bottom to top
Layer 1 - skin color and eye shadows
Layer 2 - eye ball color (gray) and eye details (reddish bits)
Layer 3 - is the lashes and brows
Layer 4 - Pupil and Iris with highlights

This image is gonna be a kind of digital mixed media. gonna have some real photos in it and some 3d in it as well as about 95% hand drawn. THe iris and pupil started out as a photo of a cool looking eye that i then manupulated with the smudge tool to make it look better.

 

Doug, the detail in the eyes is amazing. Nice work!

Great job the eyebrow too.
