Aquarium Pictures *DUW*
I'll have to post some pics from my old tank
You are right, I am a hardware nut. Welded a steel frame then wrapped it in wood cause I don't trust that much weight just sitting on MDF. I had quite a few corals but living where I do it is not easy, or cheap to buy saltwater stuff.

I had to float 2L pop bottles full of ice to cool the tank down a few times. We definately need powerful heaters though.
ooohh good idea!
awesome looking tank John!!!
Whats the white thing the clown is doing his dance in? bleached out anemone?

It was a "pure white ritteri anemone". Pretty darn rare and unfortunately was attacked one day by my Coral Beauty. The problem with that ritteri was he never liked to stay in 1 spot. He always moved around stinging other corals. Kinda glad he bit the dust but sad at the same time. The other ritteri (zoomed in pic with the percula clown) stayed in one spot which was awesome.
I just wish I didn't lose my good pics. The tank in those pics is pretty empty compared to what it was like just before I sold it.

Chuck, finnaly got around to doing that for you
Went by there this afternoon to take some pics with my new camera, that I didnt have last time. Nikon D50. Turned out pretty good. I put them in a flash gallery so it can slide show easily. Let me know if you would like any of them in a higher resolution.

When you come down John, I'll have to take you to the store. Its amazing. Tien is one of the owners and he does amazing aquascapes in the show tanks. Philip has just started at Aquarium Designs and is very well known in the southeast for being one of the best frag farmers period. I just got a frogspawn, GSP and a gorgeous green monti cap frag from him and they are doing great. Philip is going to use some of my pics on their upcoming site I hope
Man yall are making me sick...I miss my reef tank. I had a 110 that was running for about 8 years. I was in the process of setting up a custom 280 and useing the 110 as a holding tank of the nice stuff I wanted to transport when katrina hit. My 110 sat in a foot of water for a a week and had no power for a month. Now that I am going to end up moving in a year my 280 has been put on hold
This is my dead 110...

And this is my custom 280 6'x3'x2' tall starphire glass and dual custom external overflows and driled for a closed loop. I had a stand welded and coated to wrap in wood. It was going from the floor to the celing. O well maybe in a year or two.....

I'm sorry to hear Mark.
Do you post on reefcentral?? i swear ive seen those pics before.
chuck, the deep blue you see is from actnic bulbs. like a black light, but not really. the reproduce the 420nm spectrum of light you would find on deeper reefs. the frag tanks dont have any actinics on them, they are straight metal halide. 400w 20,000 kelvin bulbs

Awesome Scott!
Yes, photography is an art and you've an artist's eye. Great macros! Such vivid colors!
Amazing tanks guys!

Thanks Mike. I wasn't using a Macro lens, although I wish I had one I was using the Nikon 18-55 lens that came with my D50 and a Hoya UV Filter and Hoya Circular Polarizing filter.
