I brought the big lens camping with me this time, to capture the sunset as it went down. 800mm (400 + doubler), here are the results :smile: (last shot is 28mm)

How did you get the sun so well exposed?

 

when the sun is that low on the horizon, it has to cut through alot of atmosphere and stuff in the air, so it's not as bright. For the most part, the sun is clipped past 255, just the edges and the bottom are within range.

I meter for the sky, get the sky about as bright as I want it, and let the sun fall where ever it falls.

 

Those are great, and I would expect to see those hanging in the local art gallery.
