Sinclair gas experiences??

Not sure anyone will see this but we will be going on a Vanishing Point trip soon and following the same 1971 movie route as Kowalski in our R/T.
Gas stations are not abundant along the rural CO - UT - NV route but we do see many of the new Sinclair stations. Apparently they are considered 'top tier' fuels but has anyone had experiences with them? There are not any in my area so not familiar with this new re-branding. Thanks!

140 views with no replies and I think I know why. The Sinclair stations were overly expensive and I didn't fill up once at any of them. I do enjoy the old school Sinclair dino though (collectibles) and grabbed these photos of my R/T with a tanker.

We have them around here, but they are not the best fuel at our local stations. They tend to be cheaper here that the Shell/Chevron/Texaco stations. The kind of fall in with the Maverick guys. Okay gas at lower prices (was going to say "cheap price", but gas is not cheap any more, any where.)

We have a few Dinos around here too. Maybe one of us should start a thread with Dino Pictures.

EDIT: @NC14GT Not sure how I did not see this thread before you left on your drive, but guess better late than never...

^^ That's OK. There were more brands of gas than I thought so Sinclair was not necessary. I was a bit disappointed in the 'less than clean' condition of some that I checked out up close. Sometimes the revival of an old station name and logo are not meant to be. I'll always appreciate the old Sinclair anyway. Out of all my gas/oil collectibles, Sinclair is the most prominent and probably takes up 25% of my total.

Wow, I mean WOW! That is quite the shrine, very impressive! What a trip down memory lane... Maps, the Dino promo pictures, S&H green stamps, full service, pump placard...

Yes I too remember the stations of old much different light than those of today. Really like your collection. Lots of pieces that I have never seen or known existed. Very Cool!

^^^ Thanks! We have similar interests with our Mustangs and petroliana enjoyment. Everything is real (original) in my collection except some of the signs, like the S&H stamps, truck, full service, etc....The original signs are mostly way out of range $$$ to buy so I get the reproductions. It all started over 20 years ago with the maps and original map racks, then it progressed to the handy oilers and quart cans. Becomes addictive. Some of those 1930's dino cans run into the hundreds of dollars if unopened. This 1930's bootlegger map of the Black Hills and Wyoming (front and rear shown) is ultra pricey. I bought two a long time ago and sold my extra one for $275... I was stunned it brought so much on ebay. They are next to impossible to find though.

All great memories KC. That gas smell back then was so much different than now. I loved it and it's etched in my brain as well. Kinda like the first time you smelled race fuel raw, and exhaust from it at the dragstrip. Just something that doesn't go away.

Also, Stuckey's had the best pecan logs ever. Can't find one that comes close now.
