FROM AN EMAIL I RECEIVED TODAY!

This is really exciting news!

In case you have not seen it, here is a link to the planned track design:
http://home.business.utah.edu/~mgtjwb/IRPCA/track.pdf

Thanks to all the IRPCA folks who came out to the Tooele County Planning
Commission Meeting. The meeting turned out to be a Larry Miller lovefest.
Larry was there and spoke at some length about his plans for the track. I
know he greatly appreciated the large number of people who showed up to
support him.

The Commission voted unanimously to issue the permit to build the track.
Larry is putting serious money into this effort, and Sahara Construction,
which does all his projects, is doing the building. This is going to be a
very high quality project. Larry has committed to making it "world class."
Larry said June 1, Tom Mabey of Sahara is saying September 1. Yes, 2005.

There will be memberships available for the track, but what kind of
membership and what they will cost is yet to be determined. You can expect
Larry to get focused on this now, and I will pass along the information as
I get it from his Special Projects coordinator.

Larry projected that three (maybe four) weekends a year would be set aside for regional/national events (CART, NASCAR road, etc.). The remaining weekends (April through October) would be for use by 'locals' (read Utah racers).
There will be no NASCAR oval at this site.
The future drag strip facility will not be considered as long as RMR is still up and running.
The first buildings to go in will be the timing tower, some paddocks, and some concessions.

That's very good news. Now I can parlay skiing and racing when I visit Utah.

That's awesome, it would be great to have another track close to Denver. I'm getting a little tired of Second Creek and Pueblo.
