Wrong Question?

So i went to my local meineke today and asked how much it would cost to put a dual exhaust on my V6. The guy roughly quoted 1400. Am i missing something? I thought i could get some take off mufflers and have some pipes bent for a couple hundred. Did i just ask too broad f a question and get the price for a completely custom exhaust?

Did you tell him you had some take off mufflers that you wanted installed? Whose trimming the rear fascia for the second exhaust tip? Ya, perhaps your question was too broad.

1,400 is a rip-off.

I would go to a different muffler shop.

Mine cost $85 to weld an x-pipe, and make my v6 dual.

Ya i heard 200 from someone on here including their takeoff mufflers. That makes me feel a lot better hearing 85.

I went to my local Midas shop, gave them 2 GT takeoff mufflers and told them I wanted dual exhaust with an h-pipe. $157.00 for their parts and labor.

WOW! That is what i was wanting to hear. I assume that most midas shops around the country( given that i am in georgia) will run about the same prices? I might just have to run over there today to check it out and then place an order for some takeoffs!

Another disappointment. I stopped by the local midas today and after i asked how much t would cost to make my car have dual exhaust if i brought in take off my mufflers, the guy asked if i was trying to make my v6 into a v8. Is he seriously working at a car shop? After redirecting him many times he finally told me that they charge 87 dollars to install an exhaust system. I corrected him one more time and he finally confessed that he had never done that before and would need to look at the car. It is so hard to find a good shop.

The shops around these parts are clueless as well. I'm still trying to find a place to do duals with my GT takeoffs without bending me over, lol

I just went to the local Meineke's two days ago and was quoted $340 with my GT mufflers. He was going to bend both pipes and make an H-pipe for that price. They just opened and have almost no business, so maybe that's why.
