Just got mine this week. 2005 Legend Lime V6 Premium , Dark Charcoal Leather interior, Exterior Sport Apperance Package, TC and ABS (didn't really want them but that was what was available at the time, to build was like 2-3 months per dealer) Also a manual tranny. (My first one! Thats been a bit of a challenge sofar, but i'm getting it and I think I made the right choice)

Also anyone have a Legend Linme with the Black striped on the hood roof and decklid? I was thinking of getting this added but would like to see a pic before i do it.

I have a V6 auto and I'm just lovin' it!... mods are in my sig.

Someone stole my original pony emblem center wheel cap spinners and replaced them with Ford logo spinners! Sounds like something I might have done back in my more crazed days... well... great excuse to get new wheels!

Upcoming mods...
Next week (after they arrive from Texas)... 17" American Racing Casino Chrome wheels and Pirelli P-zero tires (same tires as on the GT)
a bit later down the road... CAI and tune

I voted that I own an auto V6 but in truth I only ordered one. That wasn't an option. Since I put money down on the car to order it (250) I figured I own one.

Haven't been to a track but I've got some times using my G-Timer.

Stock my best was a 15.2 @90.6, 2.32 60', 6.9 0 to 60

After tuning w/ XCalibrator best was 14.9 @ 91.6, 2.2 60', 6.42 0 to 60

After adding CAI best is 14.78 @ (94 MPH I think), 2.15 60', 6.35 0 to 60

No improvement noticed after adding axle back exhaust (except it sounds better).

The stock 15.2 run was hard to duplicate (had mostly 15.4 & 15.5 runs).
The 14.9 w/XCalibrator was backed up with some 15.0 & 15.05 runs.
The 14.78 is backed up with a lot of 14.8 & 14.85 runs. As long as I don't spin the tires too much I can usually get around a 14.8.

I also spin the tires a lot more easily now & it definitely feels faster & sounds better.

I'll finish installing the headers in the morning & get some new times. I'm putting the headers on myself & I installed the drivers side this morning & removed the stock passenger side exhaust manifold also. All I have to do tomorrow is bolt on the other JBA & test her. So far the install has been fairly easy & I'll make a post about doing it after I'm done.

I think a set of 4.10 gears should get well below 14.5 easy (& about 6 sec. for 0 to 60). (I'm still thinking on that change though).

I know the G-Timer may not be completely accurate but it shows how much the changes have helped my car & I think it's probably pretty close to a real dragstrip number.
that is an incredible write up, and great times! Thanks for posting!

I just made the few visual mods listed in my sig. I may look into an exhaust mod in the future. Other than that, the car's just about exactly how I want it. I've owned two Mustang GTs in the past, and I am still happy with the V6. It is a great car!

sweet, there are more V6 drivers here than I thought.

I had to vote I am buying one, since I don't have it yet, and it's not on order. I had one ordered but couldn't buy it when the time came. Didn't even go to look at it, would be too emotional.

Mine is a vert, black/ black/ red with auto. I test drove a GT and looked at several other GTs. In the end, I got the V-6 because I liked it more than the GT. I like the wheels better, and I liked the side stripes. I do not like the extra ground effects style lips on the GT. I actually thought about getting a GT and swapping the wheels and installing the stripes, but after thinking long and hard about what this car was going to be used for (daily driver), I decided the extra HP of the GT is just not something I needed bad enough to go to the trouble. Plus for my daily driver I wanted the auto and the GT auto really stinks the gas! (EDIT- OK, this is odd. I wrote "s-u-c-k-s" the gas (dashes added so it will display) and the forum substitutes "stinks"!)

I've only had it for a month, so the only mod so far is a GT muffler. I've got a sequential taillight kit and K&N filter on the way. Future mod's- definitely a CDC light bar ( http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/cdc_n...c_news_038.html ) and definitely I will be adding the left side GT muffler for duals (mainly for looks). I may add a GT grille and fog lights, haven't decided if that's a must-have yet. I'm also looking at the CDC shaker scoop ( http://www.classicdesignconcepts.com/catal...isplay/634.html ), but it'll be months before their V6 version is ready. Pricey, but it really lends to the retro look.

I won't dig into the motor until the warranty is up, and maybe not even then. But if I do decide to go the performance route, I'll get another car for my daily driver and put a crate motor in this one

I own a 05' V6 here. I added a JBA 50-2628 Axle back, and some 03'running pony fender emblems too boot. (But I have no new pictures of the add ons yet.) I would have bought a GT had I been able to find one, but this V6 is a great car I have no regrets.

Thanks Grimlock! I like yours too. I think I'll have to break down and do those driving lights at some point

I got a WB V6 auto. Main reaosn I got the 6 was that I couldn't afford the extra 5G for the v8 since I just got out of college and have othe rbills to pay off. I'm still half and half w/ the auto on Long Island. I don't regret it but at times I wish I had a manual. Hopefully ina few years I'll have by teachign job settled and then will get a SE.

Finished installing the headers today. Took about 4 or 5 hours & went very smoothly.
They look real nice on the motor & I think it sounds a little better, not a big tone change but a little deeper maybe.
As far as performance, I haven't gotten any G-Timer runs in yet. Maybe tonight on the way home from work I'll do a few runs, I get off at midnight & the back country roads are usually deserted at that time. I can't say I feel a performance difference, but the G-timer should show a difference. I'll post some results soon.

So far:

1) Le Mans stripes
2) custom side rocker stripes
3) IUP Lite
4) tint
5) spoiler
6) head light black-outs (sometimes)

next up:

7) Hula dancer bobble for the dashboard!

8) rear louver
9) 1/4 window louver
10) chin spoiler (when they become available)
11)cold air kit
12) hood scoop

13 & 14 are both exhaust (headers & pipes) but that is far enough away that I don't know exactly what because, hopefully, the aftermarket will have expanded.

15 will prolly be wheels.

by that time, the warranty will be up and I may start thinking engine mods.

Nice car! I wanted to get a Redfire but they sold the one they had at the dealership. I'm pretty happy with the black stang I ended up with though.

Well, i am hoping if things go right, that I will be offering some performance parts for the 05+ V6, and a few body mods as well, not gonna list em now, until I find out for sure.

I will find out by mid june and will let you all know. I will also be placing an advertisement on the board to help cover costs. So I will not let you know what those things will be until I place an ad, but don't worry they'll be good.
