Ok, I want a new set of wheels and tires, but if I'm going to replace them I want them to look good. I know the stock wheels are 215/65/16's (correct me if I'm wrong anywhere in this post, by the way). I don't know the offset or much else for that matter. I'd like to get either 17" or 18" wheels but I want the widest tires that'll fit on the Mustang and I want them to come out even with the fender (taking into consideration that if I lower the car sometime in the future, they'll still fit). Does anyone know the proper width/offset/bolt pattern that I would need? Thanks in advance

215/65/16 - that's the stock tire size, not wheels. I think you can go up to 235 or 245 on the stock rims.

The max tire width would be dependant on the width of the 17" or 18" rims. I'm sure far more knowledgable wheel/tire gurus will chime in.

sorry, I meant tires, my mis-type- I was also wondering on the widest wheel, which would then specify the widest tire. But not necessarily the widest tire on the widest wheel, but a combination that would bring all four out even with the fender. If that's not too confusing

Steeda uses 275/40/18 all the way around on a 18/9.5 wheel. There's seem pretty even with the fenders all the way around. Some put 295's on the rear, with a V-6...I don't know.

For a 9" wide rim a 36mm offset is as minimum as you could go for it to be tucked in even with the fender. Imo I like that look better, but you could tuck it more in with a 45mm offset.
On a 10" wide rim, there is less space to deal with so keeping it close to or at 45mm would give you enough room to stay in the fender but not rub inside.

On the 9" wide rim you could use 255-275
On the 10" wide rim you could go 275-305
FYI- 255/45/18 & 285/40/18 won't affect your speedo and can be used in 9&10" wide rims respectively
