V6 Hurst Shifter

Hi All. As many of you may know I spend most of my time over on the GT forum. But, as some of you may also know I work for B&M and since we recently acquired Hurst, I figured I better start frequenting this site now as well due to their V6 shifter. Question is; how do you guys like the shifter?.. Please give me your feedback as I'm trying to keep my ear to the ground and find out what the market really thinks about the produce we are producing...Thanks all and I look forward to working and talking with all of you!...Chris

I'm planning on buying the Hurst shifter here pretty soon, I've heard alot of good things about it, but I've also heard from SEVERAL people that it's got a bad case of the rattles and can get kind of annoying. I guess I'll be finding out soon

I love my Hurst, however the 1-2 shifts can require a bit of force on the stick. Also, reverse can require a few attempts to engage. I attribute that to the fact that she's got less than 900 miles on her. Also, the install instructions can use a bit more detail on reinstalling the inner boot, as I'm still not sure I have it in there correctly.

I ordered one and it is coming in today.
I am also concerned about the rattel that many people have reported.
Any ideas what is causing this?

you need to use a spin tight on the stick to the shifter attachment.

What is the deal with the billet that people talk about....they are on sale right now at a website for 156 and I'm wondering if theres a better one coming out that i should perhaps wait for/if the one that is out now is actually good no matter what. thanx

I installed mine about a week ago now and I have not heard the dreaded rattle that so many people have spoken about.

I used Threadlock on all the bolts and the 2 bolts that hold the shifter lever to the shifter.
I also made sure I snugged up the locking nut under the shifter handle.

I for one am very happy with my shifter.
I think it actually took care of some of the drive train noise that was being transferred to the stock shifter.
I noticed the difference in the sound as soon as I drove it for the first time.

Maybe there was a design change or something in the shifter since they first came out?
