I have about 3500 miles on my car and do about 30% city/stop&go driving and 70% highway. I'm currently averaging about 28.5 mpg. The few times I've driving mostly city I've gotten around 22-23 mpg but that has been a while. After the weather started warming up my mileage went up about 1 mpg. I don't drive like a little old lady but I don't drive like I'm in the Indy 500 either. So far I'm quite pleased with the mileage. On 90% highway driving I've gotten as much as 34 mpg though I usually average about 32 mpg. I'm sure there are things I can do to improve the mileage and as I get the time and money to delve into it I'll try to get as much out of it as I can. I see no reason why I can't squeeze 36 mpg highway out of my car especially since I've already gotten 34 at least once. All that and power too. Gotta love it. It may not be the fastest thing on the road but I can be reasonably sure there aren't too many 210 hp cars as heavy as the Mustang that can claim 34 mpg highway mileage.

I'll get a picture of the readout when I get a chance, it is very accurate. It hasn't been more that 0.2 mpg off since I got the car. As a matter of fact it's spot on more often than not.

Eleanor drinks gas like its crack and she needs a fix.......
Not that I expected her to get gas mileage, I run the pedal a little too hard.

Mine is not too bad. Got about 900 miles sofar on my manual and my latest calculation shows 23ish with mixed conditions (Not much highway but fair amount of backroads with little stop and go.) What has been said before is that is so easy to drive the car harder than I think I am. After i get over the initial fun of driving a sporty car and fun of driving as stick for the first time i expect it will improve over this.

vb101 is that your instant gas mileage or average gas mileage? because that is pretty incredible. I have a 5 speed manual and on my road trip (cruise control at about 80) i only got 29mpg (including 1 stop and 1 race)

I would definitely say that the mileage some of you are getting is way too low for the V6, the lowest ive ever gotten on my GT was 18mpg and thats 100% town driving, on the interstate for 140 mile trips im getting 25-28mpg :/

Riverside is getting worse on traffic as years pass, fortunately my poor mileage will only last for 2 more months. A mustang will never get good mileage on bumper to bumper traffic.
I would like to know what a GT would get in these conditions, because we all live in different areas with our own driving style, so someone lend me a GT for a while and i'll post the results

I think I get about 17 per gallon. 24 on road trips.
BUT Honestly, I drive it like I stole it, and it uses up lotsa gas.

I have 130 miles on mine and the readout in the message center says 17.5.

Though, I live where there is crappy reformulated gas which is proven to lower your mpg significantly. Oh well, not really why I bought the car. (I had a focus before this and would have kept that if I were truly worried about the MPG)

Holy cow! I'm getting MUCH better mileage than most of you. I keep an expense spreadsheet on my PDF, here are all my logs:

Gallons/ Miles/ MPG
12.4/ ??? (first tank)
12.81/ 316.4/ 24.7
13/ 311.8/ 24.0
10.6/ 255.7/ 24.1
11.1/ 262.5/ 23.6

According to the computer my average speed is around 43 MPH. About 65% of my driving is at highway speeds I think.

When I drive hard, I get 20 MPG with the manual. That is with a mix of city and highway. When I drive like a good boy, I get 22 MPG with the same mix. I get 27+ mpg with highway only driving. My car has 1500 miles on it.

I probably do 80% city driving. Makes a big difference. As soon as I hit the freeway and set the cruise the Average MPG starts climbing.

It's up to 20 now with 350 miles on the car

Yeah, it's a pig around town. If I keep the mileage display up while driving around it's amazing how fast it ticks down while driving around town. On the freeway it slowly climbs back up. It's kind of funny sometimes, just driving through the parking garage and sitting at a light waiting to get on the freeway it'll drop 2/10 mpg from the average :P

Yeah, I did the same thing today. Right before I got on the Freeway, I reset the the MPG on the message center and I was getting around 25.5 MPG on the Freeway, but when I got off the freeway it wnt down in a hurry!

But, the overall mileage did go up by 1 MPG with the overall total being 18.7 MPG with about 50-50 highway/city driving. Hopefully it will continue to improve as my engine gets broken in......

3) The "fly by wire" throttle doesn't snap shut when you lift off the gas. It almost feels like the cruise control is turned on. I've noticed that if I'm doing 40 mph on an urban street and lift completely off the gas, in two blocks I will still be going 36 mph. Deceleration is done almost completely with the brakes. Gas is being burned even when you're trying to slow down.
You know... I noticed that I could coast a few blocks after hitting the speed limit and stay within 5mph of that speed limit. The downside is if you get a cop behind you and you are going to fast the only real way to slow down is the breaks. The second those brake lights light-up your nailed!

I've only had my new V6 coupe for about three weeks now and I'm only on my third tank of gas. But when I filled my car up this morning I was only getting 17.75 MPG figured manually, message center computer said 18.2. But, either way it's pretty low!

I read in the owners manual that you can't really count on the gas mileage figure untill you get 3000-4000 miles on the car, but isn't that mileage figure kind of low? I only have about 450 miles right now, and I do half city, half freeway driving.

What mileage figures are you guys getting on your V6's?
My Car has 1200 miles on it and the mileage hasn't changed. I get 26-28 on the highway and average about 20-22 in town with the A/C on. If I put my foot in it a lot around town it drops to around 18. I reset the message center on each fill-up.

That's about what I expected to get but I don't think 30mpg average on the highway should be unreachable with a cold air intake and a bit less restrictive muffler. Personally I like the sound the way it is so I'll probably stop at the cold air intake and accept the hit for 1-2mpg.

I get the same gas mileage as the cable guy, and ive got about 8500 miles on my car so far.

On my road trip where i got 29mpg, im sure if i wouldnt have raced those 2 or 3 times, i would have hit 30. Im going to san fransisco again next week, so we will see if its possible to break that 30 mark.

42.5 km or 27.4 miles on the highway, rather unbelievable I think but very impressed.
