Hi all.

I'm planning on installing dual exhausts on my V6.

I'm buying SLP loudmouths for it.

So, the local muffler guy told me he won't install the x pipe or the h pipe since its illegal. Instead he told me that he could cut out a small hole by the "Y" and make a custom tube to make room for the other pipe for the other muffler.

Heres what he plans on doing.

Is this a good idea?

I dont know much about cars

can u guys help me?

It's not illegal, he's just lazy. If it were illegal then all GTs would be illegal. Find another shop.

I had the same problem with the first shop I went to.

"I can't touch the y, thats illegal"

Literally, went 2 shops down.

"Sure, I even have the left side GT pipe here."

Look around.

By now you know that guy is nuts, creative, but nuts! Find another shop and consider yourself lucky you didn't give this guy any money.

Yep, what these guys said. The first two shops I went to said the same thing. When it comes down to it, they are lazy.

I had mine done yesterday, and I'm in CA - if it can be done here, it can be done anywhere! lol

That's beyond idiotic. Just take your business someplace else.

I agree with everyone else here. I just installed duals with new piping from the cats back to GT mufflers with an h-pipe. Definately not compicated or illegal. Find another shop.
