I've had a v6 auto mustang for about 2 months and have about 2500 miles on it. I keep hearing people saying disconnect the battery for 15 minutes. What exactly does this do? and after I reconnect it, should I drive it hard or... ? I'm trying to make my car as fast as I can for an auto . I would of got manual, but the city I live in has horrendous traffic and it's just too much of a hassel to drive manual all the time here.

Resetting the battery clears out the computer's 'memory.' It automatically adjusts to your driving style, so resetting it allows you to relearn it. So to speak. The faster you want it to go, the harder you should drive it after reset.

So if I want a fast auto.. after reset I should redline it after every stoplight for a while?
