Transmission slippage at 6,000 miles?

I just about $#@* myself the other day when my car did not want to move from a stop sign. The tach moved but the car didn't, then it slowly decided to start going....wtf? Now when I put it in reverse in the morning it takes 3-4 seconds to engage and when putting it in drive it has a very noticable delay and a clunk. Of course with no dipstick I couldn't check the ATF, so it's going in to the shop Monday.

You have a bad solenoid pack. The dealer can replace the pack or the transmission. The Ford engineers may ask for the transmission back as there are few 5R55S failures.

They actually paid for a rental. An F150 4x4 Supercab, lol. How ironic, considering gas is $3.50/gallon....
