There was an earlier thread on this subject but it seemed to be mostly about the GT's. I have a V6 with manual transmission that makes a rather loud whinning noise, actually more of a hollow whistle than a whine, in 5th gear between 40 and 60 mph, worst at 50-55 mph, when under load. It's very annoying. :bang: I get this same noise in all other gears as well but not until I'm up around 2700 rpmwhich is not a problem since I don't need to stay at that rpm for any length of time.

Someone had mentioned about useing something called Dynamat to muffle tranny noise. Has anyone with this particular tranny noise done this on their V6 manual and does it help? The noise is really getting on my nerves and the dealers are of no help. I keep being told that this noise is normal tranny noise and if this is the case if useing Dynamat works to reduce the transmission of tranny noise into the passenger compartment I will order the stuff as soon as I can and stuff my car with it!

Thanks for any help you can give.
