I am in Atlanta and the Ford dealers here that I have contacted are all tools. But we do have Dugan Racing here, I will give them a call. Thanks for all the info. I think while I have tlok installed I might as well change the gears to a 3.73. I can't think of a real good reason to change the gears, but why not since the back end is already down. At least I can get to the next light faster than the guy next to me. Does anyone know of any place else in the ATL area? I want to shop the prices.

I'd believe it.. The goal of a V6 owner is to get everything upgraded! LOL!! Makes it more fun..

So you swap out the jets yet? That 125 shot could be just what the doctor ordered.. Although I would have love to see you break 12's with the 100shot.. I still think it can be done, which would send a message to all none believers..

Had a long talk with Lidio yesterday... we are going to stick with the 100HP jets... at least until we get the traction problem under control! LOL! (Yes, I know DRs) Also we want to get some more time on the 100HP and see how well things hold up...

So, the T-LOK upgrade works for all the gear ratios or do you have to get one for the gear you have [or will get]?

Sorry if that is a stupid question....

It works for all gear ratio's, like the stock one that comes with your car.

Well, I think I am going to buy the Detroit Truetrac Positraction for my 7.5" rear end. Your thoughts, pro or con?

Its stronger than the Ford Racing TLOK for sure, but it's also more than twice as much. It all depends on your racing goals. For me, the FR unit will meet all of my street driving and track needs. But if you plan on doing something major, like a Turbo w/N20 setup, then this would be the better option...or go with a 8.8 take off. But opinions vary.

I got my FR TLOK for 189 shipped from ebay (MSP deserves the credit here).

$189 is a great price for any TLOK. I have a quote from my mechanic to get the Detroit Truetrac for $515; for sure that is a ton of money, and I'm sure he is making profit on the unit itself.
But cost aside, the performance and longevity on the Truetrac should be good as far as you know? My plans are to not race and to not boost horsepower, but I do plan on keeping this car at least 20 years (at least in the family).

Honestly, if you are not doing any major power adder and/or racing I would go wit the Ford Racing part. Under normal driving, it should last just as long or longer than the stock part. And, ford will honor FR parts in our warrenty. I asked my dealer about this.

Just my two cents.

I've been abusing my Ford Track-lock since mid-august.... and I do mean ABUSING... Remember at the track i'm getting almost 400 pounds of torque when I spray... So far it's held up... eventually the clutches inside will wear out and it will need to be rebuilt ($50 kit?)....For the kind of use your taking about I would think the Track-lock would be a cheaper choice that should work just fine for you...

actually the track-lock is designed to be rebuilt fairly inexpensively... the track-lock uses a system of plates and clutches that will eventually wear out... you just replace them.. and then your back in business... I think the rebuild kit is about $50...

With your 3.73s and mods, I hope I don't pull up next to you at a light on 28.... Although I don't go up there as much anymore, because I broke up with my Centreville girl.

You wont have any problems at all with that TT.. I think you would break the motor, before you broke the True Track.. But before the motor, you may hurt the Drive-line or Transmission, or clutch first.. So you will be ok.. Not to worry at all.. Nice choice.. Thats actually my back-up plan for the 7.5, if I at some point outgrow the FRPP 7.5 T-LOK.. Nothing at all wrong with you playing it safe from the start!
