They will be more than helpfull. Your backspacing is more than likely dependant on the size (width) wheel you choose. By the way, I went with 18" not 17".... If that matters...

I have 6-rib Traction T/As on my Honda, and they are a fantastic tire. A lot of other people seem to think so too:

I think the Traction T/A's on the V6 Mustang are the "T" version. Maybe that's why they look different then you thought they would? I think they are a high tread wear version of the Traction T/A? 70,000 mile tread life according to the BFG Website.

I have T-rated Traction T/As on my Accord (205/60-TR16), and they have the same 6-rib design as the H and V rated tires. The only 5-rib Traction T/As I have seen are on the Mustang. Maybe it has to do with the taller 65-series sidewall?

So, bison, or anyone that knows, would having the lower profile size of 60 do anything to the suspension? And is there a Goodyear tire in that size (235-60-16) that anyone recomends? I ask because I know some people who work at Goodyear.

Changing tire profiles won't affect the suspension. If you change to wider rims, make sure you get the right offset - this WILL affect the suspension.

The Goodyear Eagle GT-HR is OK. Stay away from the Eagle LS, it's a mediocre tire. The Goodyear Integrity is a piece of crap.

If you're looking to save money and don't need all-season tires, the Kumho Ecsta KH11 is worth checking out.

Are those 235/60s? They look like they fit on the rims really nice - the sidewalls don't bulge way over the edge of the rims. How much clearance do you have between the front tires and the struts?

They look like Kumho Ecsta HP4/716s, not KH11s...

How did you swing the deal on the trade? Was it with the dealer, or with a local tire store?

Let us know how they handle and brake. I'm going to buy a g-meter before I switch mine so I can publish my own before and after road test!

Wow, good eye. That's right, they are HP's, not KH's. Guess I should have phrased that better, by "exactly", I meant that it was Kumho's I went with as opposed to another brand.
I went to my local Big Ten Tire Store a few days before I'd actually gotten the car, and asked if I could trade in the stock tires for a credit. He offered me fifty bucks each, which actually was better than I'd hoped. I also showed him a page I'd printed out from TireRack.com, which listed $60 as the price for Kumhos. He said he couldn't quite match the internet price, but at $69.95 it was close enough for govenment work. Especially since there was no shipping cost.
As it turned out, he had to order the Kumhos from a supplier in Tampa so I picked up the car after work on Friday (LONGEST dang work day I've had in recent memory!) but couldn't get them put on until Wednesday.

Yes, they are 235/60 x 16's, and they fit perfectly. No visible bulging, no problems with clearance, and the Seat-O-The-Pants meter says the car goes around corners with a bit more sticktoitiveness.

Good idea with the g-tech, I really should've done that as well as taking some 'before' pics, but I was in too much of a hurry!

I'm undecided on what to get, a G-TECH or a G-Timer. The G-TECH has 3 sensors, which makes it easier to calibrate, but it cost $100 more than the G-Timer.

I was talking about these same tires (Kumho Ecsta HP4/716s) on another post here. I had them on a corolla and they were awesome. When it comes time for more tires these will be what i buy 235/60/r16!

I run the Nitto NT555 Extreme ZR's on my vehicles and have have amazing results with them (handling, traction and wear) and they are a great value to boot. You guys might want to look into them before you buy!
