I promise you i can beat a stock gt for cheaper, even if they used Xplan lol.
yes rear ends are a specialty, and thats why im most likely going to leave that up to someone that does them all the time. Before my 05 v6, i was drivin my 83 5.0 glx vert. Had a 32v 5.0 swap, headers, intake manifold, carb, exhaust, 3.73 gears, and random suspension upgrades. (i bought it the way it was, only added the carb).

Sorry to get off topic, was that a 32v 5.0 or a 32v 4.6 inplace of the 5.0? Sounds awesome. What kind of power did she put down?

im sellin my other car pretty soon too, so i might be jumpin into my nitrous setup sooner than i thought. my rims are stock yes, but if i went 245's i would probably get some aftermarket 17 inch rims. But ive been told that 245's will fit on the stock rim, but its the absolute max.

under 3k
CAI 260
exhaust 250
headers 300 or so for the mac shorties
tuner 385
tlok 200 i think?
rims/tires 800
nitrous setup 540
1st nitrous fill. $30
thats under $2800 and if that doesnt get me a 13.99 run, then i dont know what to do with myself. Maybe i could put in some 3.73 gears with the 200 i have left over, and the should definately get me there. With that setup i should have a moderate 270-280rwhp
I've actaully got a set of 265/60/16 on my stock rims... yeah... the stock rim is techincally to narrow but I haven't had any problems... about 4000 miles under some pretty harsh cornering and burnouts... (one legged ones! LOL!)

BTW... having 4.10s (to make up for my Ballon Tires on the back!) and a T-lock put in on Tuesday... woohoo!!!

here ya go! LOL! These aren't the best pics.. I need to take the car out and get some better pics to show of the tires...

It really gives the car a nice stance... A lot of people like the "attitude" those big tires give the car... really fills the wheel wells up!!! LOL!

Its amazing how much HP has gone up over the years. It was probably the bad boy on the block with 135 HP in 1983. I guess it didn't weigh to much, maybe 3000 pounds?

It's the auto... but I've "tweaked" the shift schedule so it's very sporty... LOL!

yeah... i'm working on it! Everytime I mention the word track I get the evil eye fromt he Mrs! LOL!

After I get the new gears broke in I'm going to go out and find a nice deserted level road and try simulating 1/4 mile run with my X-Cal2 using the datalogging feature. Assuming my speedometer is accurate, which I believe it is, I should be able to get a pretty good idea of what kind of times I would see at the track... execpt for reaction time... or I have to just spend the money and pick up one of the newer G-Techs which I hear are pretty good now a days....

Oh my God dude... You have to let us know the launching power with the t-lok, 4.10s, and those tires! God, I bet its awesome.

What's the labor cost going to be like for the install? And do you mind telling me where you are, so I can judge it for around where I live?

Little over $300 for the install... They are going to be using Motive gears and the Ford Trac-Lock... Getting the parts from the shop... Could have got them cheaper shopping around.. but I'm on a bit of a tight schedule to get the car ready for Woodward... so I was will to pay the premium! LOL! All said and done it will be around $900... I live in Saginaw Michigan... Taking the car over to Bay City... There are not a lot of reputable shops in the area...

The pictures don't do the tires justice! It really give the car a nice agressive stance! People really take notice of thos bad boys! LOL! I'll post some times when I get the gears nice an broke in... Give me a couple of days! LOL!

oh... here is a shiny picture of the tires! LOL!

$300 for the labor only is a little steep isnt it? even for not shopping around. Around here, ive been quoted between 180-250 in labor.

Yeah... but when you're the only game in town... LOL! I've talked with a number of people and mechanic types that I trust... The shop i'm taking my car to is the basically the best in our 3 city area... So... I'm willing to pay a little bit extra...

The local Ford dealer qouted me 8 hours of labor because the tech really didn't know how long it was going to take until he got in there and just figured 8 hours should cover it... needless to say i'm not having them do it! LOL!

Yeah... they didn't give me the warm fuzzy.... LOL!

Got the call my car was done after 4 hours.. don't know exactly how long it took... The guy who did the job is known as the best in the area.. if not the whole darn state! LOL! So I was happy to pay $300 for labor... Total was $912.... that included a bearing kit...

One interesting thing... The guy said they had NEVER seen a driveshaft like the one in our car... They even took a picture of it! LOL! I haven't looked at it.. . apparently there is a sticker on it that says, "If dropped, discard"... hmmmm... oh and the u-joints are non-replaceable????

so i'm taking it easy on the car for the next 600 miles... however a slight tap on the gas does seem to bring the nose up a LOT MORE! LOL!
