I bring my stang into ford to have my 3.73 and t-lok installed at 8am. At 1035 am they pull it into the shop. At 2pm they call me and tell me they don't have all the parts I need for the install. Being the non-mechanical person that I am, I bought the gears and the t-lok and assumed that is all they needed to switch them over. Evidently, you need a conversion kit as well. So Ford racing sells the gears and the t-lok, but not the conversion kit. Rings and bearings I guess. SO for those of you who had this mod done, are they blowing smoke up my posterior, or is this a huge oversight on my part? In all the reading I have done, I don't remember seeing anything about this. Could someone enlighten me a tad? Thanx in advance for the help

Probably talking about an installation kit.. not conversion... runs about $85 to $95... while my understanding is they are not 100% mandatory, they are highly recommended... I sprung for one... LOL! I would think you should be able to get one locally...

My shop used the kit too.... funny the dealership didn't mention that before they started digging in. Seems a little on the incompetent side.

I feel gears and a limited slip is a mod best left to an privately owned shop experienced with loads of Mustangs.

One school of thought says the install kit isn't needed on a low mileage car. However, for the relatively low cost ($75 - $85) it's good insurance on any installation, at least that's the route I went.
