In the 1990 model it was rated 225 the later years they lowered the number to 205 but it still does the same 190rwhp...

Yep, it actually dosent matter to me. I love all mustangs, I've been hooked since I was a kid. I've seen some sick fast 5.0s out there. I've seen stroked 3.8's to 4.2's. They are all awesome cars!

And while the CS6 is priced really high right now, we should wait and see where it really falls in the market. It's still a sweet car. With it just comming out, I am not suprised by the high price tag. When I bought my 6, GT's were mark'd up to 32K for a coupe and 34/5 K for a vert.

You know this is lame. I was really hoping that posts like this did not exsist on this site. I have left many different forums for stupid reasons like this. I mean this truly is stupid it's like to fans of the same sports team arguing over why the 1999 team is better then the 2004 team while they are at the same game. We all have something in common we love Mustangs so why fight over which one is better. WHO CARES! They are all better then just about everything else out there. I for one love both cars the GT would be a waste for me, I do not race and in the city all that HP would be a waste for a daily driver not to mention insurance and gas. So I got a V6, so I can enjoy having a Mustang. Some of the GT guys here make it sound like I don't deserve to enjoy a car just because it's not a V8. You know I drove to atlantic city a few weeks ago and parked next to a Viper and a Boxter. Both owners were standing there and told me how great my car looked. When someone who pays 50K and up for their car and tells you that your car not only looks good but better then theirs, does it matter anymore what size engine I have? It's a Mustang if it's a V8 or not. OK rant off.

I didn't even have the spec right, I pulled it from memory. Actually the 5.0 non-Cobra model is 205. 5.0 cobra is 235.

Gotta love my 6. LOL.

You had it right!!

OH yea!!! I thought my 5.0 LX was the badest car around. It was a dark grey vert, and it hauled! Then I test drove this 6, and my eyes went wide open.

What I did like about the 5.0 was the ability to bolt anything onto it stock, without the fear of too much problems.. So while they did come with only 215HP, they were easily upgradable.. I used to take my Cobra out on Fridays and Saturday nights, and race ricers, and GT's, and LX's.. At that time, when the cops came, they didnt give out any tickets, even if you were seen doing 90MPH down a public street with over 300 people and girls in short skirts rockin.. The understanding was, that when they came dont scatter, just continue on while they watch.. But once they turned on the sirens, and lights started flashing, you better get the heck outta dodge.. LOL!! The cops around here, since they were much younger didnt mind Friday night and Saturday night racing so much.. Until people started having acceidents and smashing there cars against trees..

I'd rather have a V8, but the graphics and front fascia on that car look GREAT!

Well, then you better try and grab one of the 25 V8's which are being offered..

Actually, I also think they should offer the Shelby package to the GT's as well.. Call it a CS8.. This would be an alternative to the GT500 which will be hard to get in the beginning..

Whats nice about this Shelby package, is dealerships can now send cars to Shelby directly, and have the packages added to the cars.. Shelby then documents the cars serial number, and adds his own Badge with a serial number..

Most likley as time goes by, I'm quite sure we will see some V8 Shelby's running around which have been dealer ordered GT's converted to CS8..

So not to worry 06GT!

One more thing though 06GT!!

The only problem I see for a future CS8 is this...

The GT500= $40,000

The CS6= $35,000

The CS8= $45,000

So people who would buy a 500HP CS8 for $45K, accept the fact that they give up a 5.4L Supercharged GT500 which is being choked to only 450HP.. So it is a very complex situation.. Not sure what you would do, but I would still opt for a GT500 over the CS6 and CS8.. To me, the GT500 is still the car to get..

This is of course if we can find GT500's at $40K like promised from Ford.. I doubt it, which will most likley catapult the CS8 to people who desired GT500's, but dont want to pay $55K for them.. $15,000 over MSRP..

Wow I come here to read about the CS-6 Shelby and wade through 6 pages of garbage. Can we leave the all the whining and brown-nosing out? For a second there I thought I was on Stangnet.

This Shelby looks good...not sure if I would buy a 6-cylinder Mustang but definitely interested in what kind of performance this thing puts out

I wanna know what banana #3 is!
hehe, im not sure if a still have the linky to that one, but it was a bit explicit... for a banana lol. which is why scotthew removed it from my sig. if i find the link ill PM it to ya, to keep it all PG on the forums
EDIT: Jimp, check ur PMs lol that was quite possible the best banana smiley of all time. i'd post the image directly but.... well it alredy got removed from my sig (just the link to it) and i dont want to do something i was already told not to do.

and to get back to the topic at hand...

this is the EXACT S197 mustang would want. lightweight, most likely very good handling, looks great and heck 350hp is MORE than enough for me. i realy think this is the like... perfect S197, for me at least. its everything i would ever want. just slap on some rear window louvers and American Racing Sprints and its my perfect car! well that and make it red with gold stripes (gee i wonder lol)

I just thought of some good news for V6 owners. According to the links, Ford will still honor the warranty on a CS6 with a blower. That's telling me Ford is comfortable with the powertrain taking 350 HP. I don't think this kit swaps for a 8.8, so the 7.5 should be ok with a blower and 4.10 gears.
