 A few questions for you.
  1. Who did your SCT tune?
  2. Did you make any 'radical' changes in your X-2 optional parameters such as Spark advance?
  3. Did you install the MAF correctly into the CAI air inlet tube? It may be possible to install this backwards so double check. If the MAF is in backwards chances are the car would also be running poorly.
  4. Did you double-check all connections (bolts, harness to MAF, Torx bolts that secure the MAF in inlet tube) after the install?
  5. Do you know if whomever did your Tune set it up correctly specifically for the C&L?
  6. Anything more obvious, such as loose gas cap?
I purchased my SCT X-2 and Steeda CAI from Brenspeed.com Brent tests all the parts he sells. I loaded his canned tune w/ no difficulties & left the meaty parts of the tune alone. The only opt. parems I changed were for tire size & # of revs per minute since I run Bridgestone Potenza RE 750's which are a different size than the OEM tires. We then double checked all nuts-bolts-hookup & gas-cap before starting the car and I've been runnin' strong ever since.

This should be easy enough for us to help you fix...

Use your Xcal2 to figure out what the error code is...

Did you make all of the connections--electrical and physical? I left the MAF unplugged once...my wife drove off and came right back when the CEL came on....doh!! hehe

If you are POSITIVE all connections are good, then a bit of worrying might be in order. If you are running too lean, that's a bad thing...don't ingore the errors!

You'll learn a good deal by pulling the code!

Hammy's right. Use the Xcal to read the code. That should give you (and your tuner) a good idea what's going on.

Don't drive on it, if it's overly lean you could cause (expensive) damage.

Got the C & L and SCT from Evolution Performance in Pa. Tune that I uploaded was a 87 Oct, since I had 3/4 tank of 87 gas, will switch to 91 when tank is empty, and retune.

rechecked all conections, they're good. MAF probe will only go in one way on the C&L so its right. Never had gas cap off, but checked anyway. Will have to call on Mon.
