New V6 Vert - Delivery Times? How to learn
#1
Hi,
I ordered a V6 convertible with IUP on May 10th (not too long ago). It sounds like some of you are able to call ford and get an idea of when it will be built?
How do I do that? Who do I call?
What information does Ford need to know to tell me an ETA?
Thanks..

I don't think I can post a phone number here, but if you go to the Ford site and look for the 800 #, I think it is under the contact us thing.
You need your body style -- T84 for a V6 Conv (verify this)
The deakership's # -- call your dealer for their sales #
and your order # -- mine wasn't on the contract, but the dealer had it.
They said we should wait 3 weeks after the order goes in to start making calls. I didn't. I gave them about 10 days.
They will give you a hints, but no one will give a definate answer on anything. My car is supposed to be built the week of May 23, but it isn't until the car is built that I will get confirmation on it. Then there is the whole transportation thing.
Accroding to the dealer, once the car is built, it can sit for 2 weeks waiting to get on a train or a truck. So even though my car is supposed to be built in May, they still say I should have the car sometime in July.
Good luck with calling. You'll get answers, but no one will guarentee anything.

Search under the 2005 section for "ERL" or "Evil Robot Lady", and you'll find a lot of references to the phone system, how it operates, and how long people wait.
My statistics are below.
Good Luck.
