Motor switch

I have a 06 v6 and I've been wanting to swap motors for something more powerful, any ideas?

How much are you planning on spending?

What numbers are you looking to get?

I agree it depends on what your ultimate goal is and how much you want to spend. Just putting a supercharger on your V6 could suit your needs...or you might need to buy a 5.8L crate engine from Ford and buy a bigger supercharger for it.

I'm sure it's been done but I sure as to heck wouldn't mind hiding a 5.0 under my sixxer hood

That's kind of silly....what would be the point in putting the v8 in the (same body car) to 'hide it'?

Never heard of a "sleeper"? An '05 "V6" with a 5.0 in it would be quite a surprise!

He has the whole car gutted. 2 seats, full cage, and suspension to boot. 100% street legal, but he rarely takes it out. It's an awesome machine for sure.

I do not want a "drag car" by any means but I do want something else. A v6 was nice but not powerful enough I don't want to spend a lot but how much boost would a supercharger give

It'd probably put you a little faster than an stock 05-09 GT. But you'd be pretty maxed out on power, without dumping some serious cash into it. So if that's not gonna satisfy you, then it'll be a lot cheaper to just never go the SC route to begin with.

For me? Not at all. It'd be a complete waste of money. After I get out of college and start making better money, I plan to replace almost the entire car and put in a 5.8L and up the boost. That's still a quite a ways off, cuz it's gonna cost a *lot*. But I'm fine with my car as it is now. For now I'm just upgrading appearance items here and there.

Give it a 100 shot of boost you'll see close to 100 hp gain with the right tunes
