Magnaflow Performance Exhaust
Finally got my Magnaflow exhaust put on the Pony on Firday, and I have to say, I'm impressed. Looks great, sounds awesome.
I should say though based on previous posts, it is louder than I expected (not that there's anything worng with that - drowns out the gear noise and rattles). The sound is quite pleasant, with a mid range growl that has a european flair, in keeping with the V6's herritage.

Congrats! I love my Magnaflows on the '06 v6. They have a nice mellow tone when I'm cruising in the city and when I want to rip through the gears, they get throaty and very loud. Granted they don't come close to that famous v8 Mustang muscle sound (nothing in a v6 will really) but it's more than enough to get people wondering what I'm driving and what's under the hood when I'm whizzing by them, lol. So far, no annoying buzzing or droning. Slight pop in the mornings but it clears with within a minute. I wasn't sure if I made the right choice in Magnaflows but I'm certain that I did now after having them on for a few months. The only thing I might change in the future is replacing the y-pipe with a custom X or H-pipe but since the '06 is a weekend cruiser I'm not really in a hurry with more other debts/financial responsibilities to take of.

This has happened to quite a few V6 MagnaFlow owners.... Magnaflow refused to warranty it for me so I dumped them an went JBA. Not to mention the deafening drone that developed after a couple months of driving.

Odd.
Was it a stainless. I double checked mine, and it's mounted different. the rear hanger is on the other side. The one in your picture looks more like a round "cherry bomb" style.

The single bolt on muffler for the V6 maganflow offers is a chambered design. The dual kit uses magnapacks, which flow well....and drone well. Though they did perform well on my Xpipe setup with the 100 shot on street tires (13.6 ET).

The single unit I got is a straight through (compensating for the offset pipes) louvered deal.
It's getting some what mellower while it's getting burnt in. Traditional Magnaflow sound.

PS Seems to me I'm getting much worse fuel mileage with the Magnaflow....
Oh, maybe that's because I'VE ALWAYS GOT MY FOOT IN IT

Magna flows .... plus
I have an 05 sonic blue V6 5 speed w/ a hurst shifter. I have the magna flow dual exhaust, I took out the Y pipe and added a Pypes X pipe ( 100.00 ) Oh! and a set of JBA stainless headers. The sound is great, all my friends with stangs say my exhaust almost sounds like their 8's. I get alot of compliments on the sound.
