I ran 13.898@97.84 mph Saturday!
I thought you all would like to see the results of my 2 year journey...
I don't post here much, so here's a bit about it.
I have been trying to run 13'x for 2 years and have tried tons of parts on a coupla hunderd passes, mostly at US131 in martin michigan. I also race my stang in the IHRA summit super series there.
I opened up my exhaust cutouts and used MT ET streets for these runs. I also took out the passenger seat.
You can see a video on the mustang collective.

He's just an idiot. He hates on everything that has to do with a V6. He gives GT owners a bad name because he thinks he's better than everyone.
Most people will recognize what an awesome accomplishment this is. (I finally installed my door handles Chris )

Chris - that's a phenomenal performance for a NA V6 car. Well matched mods and good driving, I'm sure. Those numbers are dead on what my '00 Mustang GT 5-speed coupe ran stock (13.80's and 13.90's at 97 mph), and not too far behind where my lightly modded '07 GT is currently.
Assuming that your race weight is around 3400 lbs, I'm guesstimating that your car is making about 260hp at the crank (almost 220 rwhp), so you've picked up around 50hp at the flywheel from your mods?
Have you had the car dyno'd? I'm new to these forums, so forgive me if you've already posted that info elsewhere.
On a side note, I've been down the modded V6 Mustang road personally (long story so I'll save it for another time), so I was pleasantly surprised to see your post.

Thanks, it's been fun doing the work! I have not been on a dyno and use an e-mail 89 octane tune. The old car was on the dyno and had 193rwhp. The car weighs 3330 with me in it and 1/4 tank of gas, so the power may be lower than your estimate.
the right combo of mods and a good day are definatly the things to have.

Amen to the "right combo of mods." I've seen so many guys over the years that modified their cars with a mismatch of parts that worked in different rpm ranges, when they would have gone much faster by building with a very particular operating range of rpm's in mind.
I'm currently working toward maximizing WOT between 4,000 and 6,500 rpm's for my 07 GT. Don't care at all about anything under 4,000 rpm's as I have a stall converter to flash the rpm's instantly to 4,000 +, as well as 4.10 gears and JLT CAI. Future mods toward that rev range include bigger cams, head work, and headers. It's probably gonna idle like crud, but hold on tight when the throttle's on the floor.
You've definitely got one heck of a combination to get into the 13's, so my hat's off to you for paving the way for other V6 owners!!!
There's an S197 V6 owner that frequents our local track. Supercharged car that runs in the low 12's. It's so cool to see that car launch and whoop on the old primered Novas and Chevelles and stripped-out Ricers that frequent our track.

thanks torch! But i'm a little humbled by that statement!
five oh-I see you live where it's cold, so you won't get to the track till spring, I really would like to see what you run then, and hp goals?

Most stock 05+ GT automatics put about 245-255hp to the ground. Mine gets about 265-275hp to the ground (depending on weather), so I leveraged about 20 rwhp with gears, converter, and tune. The JLT CAI I recently added has pushed my converter's stall speed up from 3800 rpm's to 4300 rpm's, which tells me that significant torque gains came from the JLT CAI.
I need 295 rwhp to achieve consistent 12.80's, which is my goal, and I'll be there with just a couple easy bolt ons. Keep in mind, that this is a heavy street car that I drive to work every day. No gutting the car. The only things I remove on race day are the jack, spare tire, and rear seat bottom which require no tools to remove. My car is a very heavy, well-optioned automatic car, so 12's is a bit tougher for me to get to vs a much lighter GT manual.
Heck, at the rate you're going, your 4.0L S197 may get into the 12's before my GT does!!!
On a side note, I once owned a V6 Mustang and was able to shave more than 4 seconds off it's 1/4 mile ET through modding while keeping it naturally aspirated. Long story, and not terribly exciting in the end, so I'll spare you my V6 story. But, that does keep me interested in your saga. Your V6 is coming along much better than the one I had long ago.

I foyu are interested I have a bmr kmember and arms, a supernatural 2800-3000 rpm stall convertor to install, and will also be finishing up the brackets for my kirkey seats along with a lift off fiberglass hood. That is all for spring, my local track won't open till april so I have time.

Is the 2800-3000 rpm rating based on a stock V6? If so, then your car will stall much higher than that due to the extensive mods you have.

The convertor is a brand new design, not a reworked and comes with a light weight flywheel. It is specifically for the v6 4.0 mustang and sold/made by supernatural performance. One other person I know has one installed, dropped 3 tenths off his et and allowed a 2800 launch. That car is super charged though. 13.4 is my goal on pump gas, I am shooting for lower with a race gas track only custom tune.
I have everything except the hood in my basement now.
