You cant Redline without a tune because the computer is set so you go right at the redline but never past. But you cant go to it everytime on all gears in a stock auto

Not true, just go in a puddle of water and nail it. Pretty sure u will see redline, if not fuel cut off.

I don't think you could hurt it unless you were going along fast and then put it down into 1st. I think that the rev limiter would keep any damage from happening besides that. The car's computer is programmed to shift before redline.

I do have an auto and have tried that, the car will just shift into second keep spinning, shift into third spinning and then it will bog and downshift back to second, but it will not hit the revlimiter . I have left the car in 1 and 2, instead of D, and what you hit is the revlimiter , this will not harm your car the limit is there to prevent it. if you want to get into the redlinbe part of the tack you have to raise the revlimit using one of the available tuners.

With the stock tune something else to consider is when the engine gets within 400 rpm's of the Pre-set rev limiter it will begin to close the throttle plates so you will start loosing power before you even get close to it.

Now like I said that is with the stock tune, not a BamaChips

Never said it would damage it, just saying if you get the tires to spin fast enough it will usually go to redline before it shifts, computer just doesnt keep up with the rapidly increasing rpm.

Yea fazm it doesn't hit redline at all...its almost like super-fast acceleration mode (without speed, of course.) The rpms hit 6k in like 1/2 second, the car shifts into 2nd, and maybe even 3rd sometimes so smoothly. Nothing happens; no rev limiter hit.

well i have a question: sometimes ill put the peddle all the way down, right away when i see there is no one in front of me and i am at a stop. Ive only done it three times and i raced againt my friends stock v6 ninety something camaro anyway my question is, how come my car vibrates roughly at idle ever since ive done those things. Im afraid ive harmed something in the engine or maybe an oxygen sensor? any thoughts would be very appreciated....thank you!

Thats crazy, you could do some serious rain burnouts lol. In my 4.0 explorer it will hit bout 6200rpm before it shifts.
