Looks good. You will need the GT pipe for the drivers side. KC should be able to help you with that!

What else would I need? The driver's GT pipe goes over the axle? Wouldn't I be mismatched then?

You know what, I havent seen the stock V6 exhaust pipe in almost a year. I thought it went over the axle as well, so all you needed was the driver side, but I could be wrong. I would ask KC, I think you can get both pipes from him for like 100 bucks.

It does go over the axle but it's smaller. I'll get with Kevin, thanks.

Wow, I'm pretty sure the "over the axle" part of the exhaust is the same diameter on stock-V6 vs. V8 pipes. Where the difference lies is near the cats---it's a smaller pipe in front of the Y pipe, but a bit bigger behind it...least I'm pretty sure?? 2.25" in front to cats, 2.5" behind Y and over axle.

But then again...I might remember it incorrectly

Edit: the GT rear driver's over the axle pipe and the V6 over the axle pipe have to be the same 2.5" size...they both fit perfectly into the Magnaflow X-pipe...they aren't mismatched.

I stand corrected! I just assumed it was 2.25" throughout. Sorry Rygen. Well, we all know what happens when we assume...

So will the GT H-pipe just bolt right up to the V6 cats? I guess I'll buy the h-pipe and driver's( ) over axle pipe from Kevin, plus the driver's hangers. Then I'll have to decide if I want a driver's side Magnaflow(to match the one I have) or GT mufflers. I'm thinking about the MRTs also, but i really don't want my car to be LOUD.

So if i go with the Magnaflow x-pipe it will just bolt right on? I'd to do this all on my own if i can. I don't want to have to go to a shop.

Excepcion13 did a ton of reseach on this, he said his research indicated that the GT h bolts right up. Its snowing today, but I am going to do a new sound clip of my car, and clip from within the car. This will give you an idea of what dual magnaflows sound like. They are not quiet! And there is a drone just to warn you.

My magnaflow trux had to be welded in, they had to cut out the Y pipe, and weld in the X. In fact Chris at Excessive got ticked cause he cut too much, and had to weld a portion of my SS pipe next to the X. I'll take a pic of that section.

Ok, I'll stick with the GT H then. Maybe I'll get the GT mufflers also. I want it to sound deep but not loud.

No--I wasn't being clear---sorry for that!

The BACK SIDE of the X-pipe will clamp on. The FRONT SIDE requires some custom piping from the X-pipe to the pipes coming from cats; they are 2.25" and need to go to 2.5" to fit the X-pipe and they are not long enough to reach the X-pipe either.

NOT a do it yourself for most of us (need short pipes bent, welded, etc.)

Well, to be honest, I had drone on my magnaflows since day one at 2500 rpm. I put the X in to document a gain, and to be honest, my butt dyno didn't notice a difference with the X. Now, I'm not sure if the H gets rid of the drone everyone who goes with GT take off pipes swears by them.

So, all I can say is, my exhaust experiment is not over by a long shot.

Good choices, I think. The dual GT takeoffs are significantly better than the stock, but aren't what I would call loud.

Remember, my context is a rag top! So, the sound in the cabin is going to be different than a coupe. I think it's one reason I think the dual GT muffs are plenty for our ride.

Cruising speeds are quiet with no drone, but gasing it makes some rumble.

This post has pretty much sold me on doing some work to my ride to get rid of my drone. Research time!!! Thanks Hambone.

Just adding to this. I have GT take off's with a magnaflow X pipe. I still get the 2500 rpm drone though. Its the most obvious when the car is cold. Still no clue how to get rid of it.

He's usually quick, but he may be swamped. I know both you and I have put up his email on several threads. We might have actually hurt ourselves doing that. LOL.
