H-pipe vs True Duals
#1
Went into the muffler shop today and inserted and H-pipe on my exhaust setup...prior to this i was running true duals and in higher rpms she just sounded a bit ricy which i hate..So the H-pipe was my cheapest outlet, costed me 45 bucks which i think was pretty sad since i had bought the setup from them...The deeper sounds have smoothened up a bit and are more consistent...at higher rpms you can hear the engine a bit more and the rice burning no longer exists....Thank god! lol She may even pull a bit harder who knows?!?

This is exactly what Randy's Custom Exhaust tells me.
1.) No cross-over whatsoever = poppy and tinny
2.) H-Pipe = best sound
3.) X-Pipe = not as good as an H-Pipe.

I agree. I just installed dual exhausts and drove it with true duals for an evening since my mechanic didn't get a chance to do the h-pipe by the end of the day. Sound was way too raspy and high pitched at high rpms. I wasn't impressed at all. When the h-pipe went in the next day, I was amazed by the sound difference. A lot smoother at idle, and a deeper, more powerful tone under accelaration all the way through the rev band.
