I finally got the GT wheels I bought off ebay today and to my surprise, found out that they were 2006!!! I had wanted the pony center caps and I thought these were going to be the 'Ford' ones but they weren't

Anyway, I'm going to try and get around to painting my brake calipers and getting my new tires, etc this week and putting those bad boys on my car, I'll try and take some pictures also when they're complete.

I love ebay now, I won the wheels for $200 and paid $10 for each wheel to ship 'em. Brand new, 0 miles. The guy works at a dealership and said the customer upgraded his wheels before he picked up the car, so they're in perfect shape. And now that I don't have to buy the pony center caps, that's $240 for all 4 wheels shipped.

I've also gotta get some new tires, and I am leaning towards Bridgestone Potenza RE750 255/50/17's

Any input you guys have would be great

Sweet!! All we need now are some great pics once you get it all installed!!

If you would like, I can arrange for you to ship those wheels to a Company called Wheel Techniques in San Jose California.. They can polish the Stock GT wheels..

This company has done 3 of my cars wheels..

81 911 Turbo
93 Cobra
88 Saleen Mustang..

http://www.wheeltechniques.com/

Or you can just call them.. I am good friends with the owner, so let me know!!

I think that the 255/50/17 is the perfect size for a V6 with 8" wide rims, for the following reasons:
1.) It is exactly the stock diameter of the V6 wheel (27.0").
2.) It bulges out slightly from the rim, giving your rims a little "curb protection".
3.) It fills the width of the fenders out just a little more, especially enhancing the forward fender flair.
4.) You keep the same size tire all the way around (instead of a stagger width) so you can rotate your tires, and get the best handling out of the 50% / 50% weight distribution of the V6.
The brand that I purchased came from Les Schwab, and cost me $100 each. They are Hankooks, and I find that they are especially sticky, especially here in Washington where it seems that it just never quits raining.
Speed rating is "W", which is plenty good for anything a V6 could throw at them. I definitely will buy them again.

I noticed a slight difference in handling but it could have just been the placebo effect as far as tires go- I also have the front sway bar from a GT on there

Get the rear sway bar while your at it. You`ll be cornering like Steve McQueen.

Perhaps a silly question, but I'll ask anyways. I have the stock 16" wheels on my V6. I've thought about getting some take-off Bullet wheels, since you can get them and tires for cheaper than just a set of new tires. So, If I get some 17 or 18 inch wheels...do I have to have the computer reflashed? Or is it the old-fashioned speedo gear swap?

(Looks good, btw! Nice to see another Tungsten. Now, you just need to get dual exhaust installed!)
