Will do , tomorrow i am going to the track . I will also try power braking it at the start.
Power braking is a must! I usually launch around 1800 RPM... the whimpy V6 brakes have a hard time holding more than that wit the 4.10s.... LOL!

I'm assuming your making the shift changes right on the x-cal2? I'm surprised it actually changing stuff... especially the shift pressure... The shift pressure didn't work in Extreme Tune... I had Lidio set my shift pressure to "Barbaric"... that hard shifting made like a .25 difference in my 0-60 time... going to the 4.10s shaved like .4 off my 0-60 time... LOL!

Wouldn't happen to be leaving your OD on are you? I've have forgetten in the past... The car I think will actually go to 5th... LOL!

good luck...

Are you sure? I don't have an Auto so I can't really back this up, but I don't understand in a technical view why it wouldn't go through the 1st two gears.
The manual valve can't bypass TV, Gov pressures, and 1st two shift valves (wouldn't it see high load and have kickdown PSI from TV activated if it did somehow bypass?), I will reasearch and try to have an answer tommorow if it indeed does stay in 3rd.
This is interesting, as I always though you guys dragged with it in 3rd all the time. My friend who has a Trans-Am has no prob.

I thought putting it in "3" means it tops out at 3rd gear---but surely it's going through 1st and 2nd to get there???

Man, gonna have to try this out!

Yea , the car just stays in third.

Scrming, when i changed the shift presure it works great , shifts now snap your head back even when you are barely acelarating, so that part worked. But when i try to extend the shifts or make the car shift at 6200 for example , it will still shift at the pre set level , before going into the redline.

On the Overdrive thing. I have never power braked the car and i have never turned off the O/D since i did not think it would jump from 4 to 5 at full throtle. I have not been able to go to the track to try everybodys suggestions and it will be at least another week since i am leaving for SCT tomorrow to take their tuning classes. After i come back i will be programing my own car(we will see how that goes lol) so Iam sure i will have some good info to pass on. Thanks for the help.

LOL!!! I tried it yesterday, too! Scrming was exactly right...it stays in 3rd gear only. It was a VERY strange feeling when starting off from a stop light...lol. Hehehe....felt like a gutless wonder off the line!!

Hey guys, well I was wrong with this tranny. The main reason why you guys can't leave it 3rd, and have it shift through the 1st 2 gears is because it's a 5 speed auto. It doesn't allow pressures to be entered when the manual valve is opened to the 3rd gear, unlike the 4-speed autos of before.
I am still learning

Ok, back from the classes. I found out that the gear section on 05-06 has to be changed in the base file and cannot be adjusted with the xcal 2 at this time , so the changes i made for the 3.73 actually did not register. That is why my car got slower..wrong shift point , wrong converter lock up schedule etc.. I will fix this during the week and see what happens. Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

cool thanks for the update. btw - 3rd gear is great for crappy weather. I use it to launch in bad rain/snow out over here sometimes. Actually keeps the tires from spinning out too much...

You mean NONE Of the on-device adjustments for gears work work correctly?? Not even in the new .LL3 file format?

Sigh...SCT has some 'splaining to do' !!!

At least that is what i was infromed by the guy who gave the classes(Dave), some of the on device features may work, but the gear section is not, at the moment.I went out and put the stock gear back into the tune and the car behaves the same as when i had 3.73 in there. Dont know about the .LL3 format thing. I will be sending my xcal back to Lidio to get it adjusted for the gear change, so time will tell.
