mine does the same thing. Only get about 220 a tank. But it is a V8 and most of my driving is in the city.

Over inflating is better than under inflating your tires, though it might make for a bumpier ride. I've been getting roughly 19-20mpg.

Though, now I have an intake and tune, I haven't driven it enough to know if the mileage has changed. It's been cold and wet with a bit of snow and ice the other day so I've been driving the beater.

I would say for a V6 that's VERY low.

I have a V8 and get a little over 15.

I would take it in... sounds like something is screwy.

My '04 Mazda6 got crappy gas mileage for about the first 5K but then began to get as good or better than the EPA rating. OTOH, my new Escape with only 2.5K is already getting the EPA rating. I'd say give a few thousand more miles and see if it doesn't improve.

with stock gearing I was getting around 22MPG around town and as much as 27 on the highway... These motors don't loosen up until almost 10,000 miles.. at that point you should pick up a couple more mpg... Even with the 4.10s and jack rabbit starts I still get around 20MPG...

I've been getting mostly 19-21 with a combo of city/highway leaning more towards city. Changing your oil to mobil 1 should give you a little better gas milage because of reduced friction although probably not much. I agree with the others that after the motot breaks in a bit more, you should see an increase in milage.

I put in a CAI from Brenspeed (The MAC) and used the 93 Octane flash from the SCT and hit 30 on a cross country freeway trip. I didn't believe it. So I computed it three times and each time 29-30 mpg (just about 400 miles a tank)

Don't feel bad, I get about the same. Maybe it's the way I drive...

Definitely the way you drive it. I will go from 16ish up to 20 depending on my mood, which usually is "lead foot!"

My 05 GT is an automatic. I "dog" it at most lights because it's so much fun. Car has 5100 miles and is 6 months old. Keep tires at 32psi. I always get in the 17 MPG range. Best ever was 22 (that was hwy, but driving fast-all of it was hwy, long trip) Something sounds off, sorry- no guess what. Hope you figure it out.

Ya I get the same in my GT. Low to high 17's mo matter how hard I drive it except on longer trips on the highway.

Our mileage has changed since we first got it..

Back in October (18th) when we got it, we were averaging about 22mpg overall (driving very nice).. Thats 100 miles a day, 4 miles dirt road, 20 miles 2 lane twisty/hilly, 35 miles freeway (75 and 65mph speed limit) and the rest is in town...

Fast forward to now, December 21st, 3 oil changes later.. We have 6900 miles on the car and the average shows 24-25mph depending on how I drive when I go through town.. If I drive with a heavy foot through town I can get the average back down to 23..

btw.. this is an 06 v6 5 speed.

Wow isn't "new" technology great! I never average less than 20 mpg and on the highway I get 26+ and that's with a inefficient, old 2V with a Supercharger and 381.5 rwhp

Take back to the dealer for a check. I have 2200 miles on my V6, and average 19 to 20 mpg intown. A good dealership should be willing to check it for you under warantee. Good Luck!
