functioning gauges
The '94-04 Oil and Volt Gauges were that way, so I would assume the 2005 is as well.
Water temp goes slowly up as car warms up, so I can't see how this could be. However it too may be somewhat of an idiot gauge, as I have never seen it vary from the final "warmed up" position with different outdoor temperatures. To test, you could unplug the cooling fan and drive around to see if it gets any hotter than normal !! This could be flerting with disaster if it IS an idiot gauge !!
On my '98 3.8L Mustang, I added an Autometer Mechanical Oil PSI Gauge and I would see fluxuations between 25 to 90 PSI and that 'ol idoit gauge did not move !!

I'm interested as well to know if these are "functional" gauges on the '05.
