a few basic s-197/v6 questions

is the v6 aluminum blocked, like the v8?
how high do they rev?
what are the stock hp/tq numbers
what is the most NATURALLY ASPIRATED power anyone has made with one?
what mods?
how much lighter is a v6 CAR, than the v8??
or
how much lighter is the v6 BLOCK than the v8

what would headers, UDPs, cams, CAI, and a custom tune make?

Doc, welcome to the forums and the enthusiam you show for the V6 4.0 S197, it great that people are still that into this platform.

I'll start by saying the internet is at your disposal and much can be found if you just "google", most of this has been beaten to death in discussions and can be looked up on most forums.
The block is not ALUM,
Ford has a rev limiter set at 6200 roughly (give or take)
Power is subjective most I've seen is top off around 215RWHP w/basic mods done by a good tuner on a fantastic weather day.
Not sure on the exact weight but I was always told about 400lbs.
Cams, UDP, CAI and tune~ would cost ALOT of money since the cams are not blanks and need to be reground. Headers are not proven to do a whole lot seeing as the factory set up breaths well.
Best bet, check out the forums, do some research and ask some questions. Most people go w/basic bolt ons of CAI tune and Exhaust and you have about as much power as most need w/the laws on the freeways. Enjoy the 4.0 its not built to rev high its built to cruise and look cool in.

BTW w/a turbo and minor suspension Buckman went 10.2 in the 1/4. Enjoy!

~If any info is wrong sorry this was off the top of my head and I've been busy lately....it was the best of my knowledge*

Good infor Ron.

Also, Buckman went 11.02 I think on 15psi and a 75 shot. He did crack 11.9's with 15psi I think.
