Explorer Express X-Charger installed

Got my X-Charger kit from Explorer Express last week. Had to wait until the weekend to install it due to work, but it turned out perfectly.

Well into boost by 2200rpm, and this thing sings in the upper rpm range (cant hear it at idle, great sleeper material).

Dave V. at Explorer Express and Doug at Bamachips were both great to deal with. I am soooooo happy I went this route. Well designed kit, awesome install manual and top notch support.

Anyway, here's a couple shots:

Nice, I love the way the eaton/roots style blowers sound in the high rpms

It's a beauty of a kit! I didn't think it would fit with a strut tower brace! Nice!

It actually has MORE clearance for the brace than the stock plastic manifold

Hey Torch, Looks awesome! I'm green with envy. What strut brace is that? Let us know what you dyno. I'm half way there saving the dough for the X-Charger myself.

My brace was bought from Ecosse Engineering last year. They only seem to sell on eBay, and not very often.

Keep saving. I truly know waiting is tough (it was about a year between the time I decided the X-charger was what I wanted, and the day the kit arrived at my doorstep).

I believe you'll find the wait is well worth it.

Ha, Ha....... i know it was a stupid question, but i had to ask.... Just got off the phone w/ Dave, seems like a great guy! He is e-mailing me the manual so i can get a sneek peak at this thing before i pull the trigger. Then, i wait and save pennies for awhile, no rush as ol' winter seems to be setting in early this year, time to but the car to bed anyway. looks like it will be sweet tho!

Dave is a great guy. Both he and Doug at Bamachips (who supplies the tuning for the X-Charger) are 110% professional, and both are genuinely nice guys.

I hear stories on the boards about other vendors where people have gotten stuck dealing with some clueless kid for phone support. X-Charger owners can talk to the guy that designed the kit, as well as the tuner involved. That's a BIG selling point imho.

Dave even phoned me after my install to see how things went, and seek my opinions on the kit, the manual, etc. You don't often see that level of followup.

The manual will only make you want it more. It's easily the BEST manual I've seen for any product. For instance I've read Vortech's manual. The X-Charger manual is far more detailed and clear, and has more photos (in color yet) even though the actual install of the Vortech is more complicated. The attention to detail shows.

I'm going to start sounding like I'm on the EE payroll if I keep going, but I am truly satisfied with the X-Charger, and have never had a better experience dealing with any vendor.

An interesting point regarding the brace, the X-Charger install actually INCREASED the clearence under the brace vs. the stock manifold (I was actually worried I'd end up having to lose the brace).

That thing looks and sounds sick as hell. Just wondering does it use the stock intake? Or is that the intake that comes with the kit.

Awesome!! Does it require a tune to run properly? I don't see thier website indicating anything about installing it on a Mustang 4.0 ... am I missing something?
