Exhaust Questions

Yes I understand there is A LOT of threads on here with which is the best exhaust for the V6. Only problem is I rarely see any with sound clips. I know everyone has there own opinion about exhaust sound so that's why I look for sound clips. So I can make my own judgment. Sadly I've only heard the Flowmaster, Magnaflow, and Bassani Cat-backs. To me they sound too high pitched. Not as low a tone as I would like. I've been told the MAC dual Exhaust for the V6 gives the best low rumble. However a huge Mustang buff at my job has told me that the coating on the MAC exhaust is horrible.

So if anyone has a soundclip of the MAC exhaust on an 05' V6 if you could send it to forernie28@yahoo.com. Also if anyone knows anything about the coating "problems" give me a shout on here or at the e-mail address. Oh and I'm probably only gonna have like $400 to spend on exhaust, so most of the other exhaust kits are a little pricy like the JBA's true dual. Thanks in advance guys and gals.

MAC makes the V6 Mustang dual exhaust in stainless steel so the coating issue is a thing of the past. Just remember that MAC does not include the extra hangers necessary to mount the driver-side muffler so you will have to them get seperately.

Hi,
You can get the hangers at newfordparts.com. I paid 40 dollars a piece plus shipping which they only charge 15% of the cost for shipping. Look them up and give them the part number or they will look them up for you. I bought the midpipe and several other things from them. They were cheaper than the dealers in my area.

No matter if you buy them from FOMOCO or from the site that responded, USE THE OEM HANGER! The OEM hangers make for a much easier and professional installation. You are really asking for grief if you cut corners and use those cheezy hangers from Pep Boys or Advance.

The hangers Ford uses on the new Mustang are unlike any we've seen anywhere else. And since they bolt on to the frame of the Mustang in a unique way they are likely not be universal or standard.

These hangers are insanely expensive for what you get but that's the way Ford prices them.
