Well I've caught the **** drone bug from my flowmasters. What exhaust doesn't drone? Are the ford fr500s mufflers as good as ford makes out to be?

 

Sorry to jump in on your thread without an answer but I have the same problem.
I had the rattle a while ago and thinking it was the baffles coming loose I contacted Flow Master. (later realised it was the clamp) They sent me a new set free of charge. They are sitting in my garage but I thinking against putting them on.

 

Flomasters are known to drone..

What tear v6 is this?

 

Eh mine was welded on, it is definitely the mufflers, the drone is unbearable

ive had the gt takeoffs on for a few years now. ya, they are quite idling and cruising easy, but they do come alive on the gas, sound great at start up, really make a nice sound at wot, no drone at all, they still look like new almost at 100k and i have been very happy with them. if i ever get to where i need to replace them, it will be with the same thing

 

Maybe late on the advice, but I had unbearable drone from Flowmasters and switched out to GT takeoffs, which were way cheaper and drone-less. If you can afford it, go Borla. If you have duals, get an x-pipe. You won't regret either.
