Update, had the GT muffler installed today, I work at a Toyota dealer, it was a slow day so one of the techs changed it over, took him about 1/2hr, had to bend the rear mount arm up just a tad to keep it away from the bumper cut out, fits like a glove, tail spout does sit out a bit more then stock, but we are going to cut that off and install a nice chrome finnish spout, should look very nice when done...
now for the sound AWESOME much better then the stock muffler, I test drove it right after and 1st thing I noticed was that 1,500rpm DROAN was gone, honest it feels like it has more pep seems to fly now, am i dreaming or what ?
Hammy thanks for all your help and all those that posted there
experiences...now what to do with the left side GT muffler I have, going to store it for now, will wait and see.

Hey gregbe,

Glad to have helped You can thank Afixer, too---he was my inspiration to do this.

I'd like to see the new chrome tip once it's installed...should be nice I'm sure. I really didn't want to mess with that...

And I hope you're storing the LEFT muffler

And move your GT mod from the wishlist to the DONE list on your mod sig....hehe.

LOL, just caught that Hammy, YES will be storing the (LEFT) muffler for now, and like I said before it gives me chills thinking about cutting the driver bumper at least for now, I just hit 600 miles this weekend,it's still wayyyyy to new to me yet, and the wish list is now updated...Will snap a few pics once the Tip is installed.

Wating on the Headrest wrap to come with the running pony, that should bring a few "bling blings" to the table...lol

I also installed the Afixer/Hambone exhaust system. I have noticed a drone around 4,000 rpm when acelarating hard , do any of u guys have this or is it just me. I was wondering because my muffler guy tied together the rear tubes that go to the muffler just before they go o ver the axle, thought that had something to do with it. After that i intaleed the SCT2 89 tune from lidio , went to the track for the first time and got an 14.9 at 92 with a 2.20 60 ft times. Pretty good for an automatic with this few mods. Thanks for the exhaust idea, pics and sound clips, everything turned out great.

Hammy, here is a picture of the Gt muffler I have now...

Question, take a look at the tail spout, is the tail spout on yours look the same in length...about 9.5 in

Gregbe,

That looks just like the ones I installed...they do stick out maybe 2.5" from the V6 bumper. But like I said, I like the look It's a pretty nice stainless tip...it's longer and has a larger diameter than the V6 tip. I have some side by side pics of the V6 with the GT muffler at home...I'll try to post them in the next day or two.

That same look of the longer GT take-off on the V6 rear bumper, along with the sound, is what pushed me "over the edge" to go have the other side installed.

Yeah you saw me Afixer!! Let me know if the new movie will be out soon, so I can take my daughter to see it.. She's only two, but she loves going and hanging out at the movies.. She actually doesnt fall asleep, just munches popcorn and points her fingers at the screen.. Its fun!

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to give an update, its been a busy couple of weeks

I received my GT Take Offs last week (65$ with shipping from ebay) and they look amazing I barely had time to get the Rear Sway Bar installed, so the Mufflers havent gotten on yet. I will be off all next week for the holidays so this is top priority for me

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who has done the initial work and provided feedback on how the installs went. I am initially installing just the Pass Side Muffler, but the Driver Side will go on in the Spring once the weather gets better

Once I get it on, I will add any comments I come up with, and thanks for the note about taking the brackets off (rather than sliding the muffler off the hangers). Its tips like that which makes it easy for the rest of us!

Thanks!!

Here is a straight on shot, looks close but I do have about 1/4" clearance around the pipe, I'm going to reposition it soon cut it back and add a rolled tip to it.
