Alright, so I want to put dual exhaust on my V-6. and I want it to be a true dual.

So I was wandering how this could be done without buying the JBA system?

I can get a good deal on some bassani GT mufflers, but is there anyway i can make that work?

PLEASE HELP!

 

JBA is aluminium, so most (myself included) prefer to go with steel setups. You pretty much have two routes you can go, custom setup or a kit. Most kit’s are Y pipe configuration, like the one on my ride. I’ve noticed a gain with it, and can hear the difference.

There are two JBA kits, one Y pipe and one true dual kit (H pipe). All the research I have done indicates that a H pipe produces deeper/better sound, while an X pipe performs better. MAC and Magnaflow make a dual kit as well, but both are Y pipe configuration.

You can also get a GT take off dual exhaust that includes an x pipe configuration, or have a custom dual setup. It all depends on if you want to deal with welded pipes vs. brackets.

Personally I went with the Magnaflow kit, and will convert it to an x pipe later this month. There are a ton of threads on this that have already covered it. Afixer and MSP have really nice dual setups, you can PM them or surf the other threads.

Actually JBA is aluminized steel, i.e, steel with a layer of aluminum applied to it as an anticorrosion treatment. Better than raw mild steel, not as good as stainless.

 

Actually, if you go to a good muffler shop, they should be able to build your system in house without a problem.. Just buy a Magnaflow XPIPE, and take it to them, and say you want a dual exhaust system built around it.. They should not charge you more than $300 bucks for labor, and about another $160 for some Flowmaster Series 40 mufflers..
