Car feels and runs much better now
#1
Lets see if this one stays here, jeje. As some of you may remember i wasnt too happy with my gear change to 3.73 since my car felt and ran slower. Before the gears i ran 14.92 @ 92 after the gears it went 15.2 @90, I added an AFE CAI and went back to 14.97 @ 90. Lidio then adjusted my tune for the 3.73's and firmed up my already hard shifts. Left on DRIVE, the car is spinning in 1 , chirping hard 2 and chirping 3...feels great . I went to the track last night but could only get one pass since i got there a bit late and they were closing early. I got there , gave the car half an hour to cool down a bit and lined up. Since i was looking to compare my run to my previous runs i used the same launch and shift method as before. No powerbraking at the line and left it in D, no rowing thru the gears. I spun the tires a bit of the line but still got an 14.70 @ 92.7 mph. There was a guy in a Black 93 Cobra runnin 15.0 @94 who could not belive my car was a v-6 ,lol, after i showed him the slip, had to open the hood for him, jejeje. Even thou I only got one run i had a blast , its fun being the underdog , no one really expects much from a sixer...I will try to get to the dyno this week and then to the track again, i think there is a bit more room left for improvement. Yes with only one run very possible what is the best ET are you thinking might be possible?

That's awesome! What kind of tires are you running, and are you playing around with the air pressure? If you can get that 60' down, you might be getting close to 14.50's with no other mods.

Track wont be open for me for another 3 weeks, so hopefully you dont get even lower lol. I need to call MRT, i ordered my exhaust almost 2 weeks ago, and havent seen anything yet.

Ford just called me and i think i now know why my times have decreased since my last mods. I blew the passenger side head gasket lol. So i will get my car back this weekend hopefully. Ill have my exhaust on next week. And hopefully a tune from doug after i get my xcal2 fixed. Then i get to try to get to 14.7 again, then hopefully even faster.

TJ, from looking at everyone's time slips a 2.15 may be posible instead of the 2.23 iam getting on the 60 ft times. At the start, I am spinning the tires a tad so am loosing a bit of ground there.
Scrib , i am running the GT Premium wheels with the Pirelli tires, Take Offs. I did not mess with the tire presure so it should be set to 32 i guess.
On the way home i was trying to think what was the best time i had read about N/A and all i could remember was FAZMs 14.7. I bet some of the Nitrous guys could get lower N/A times if they tried ,but I guess its hard to go N/A once your sqeezing the bottle, jeje. Iam more than surprised and happy with the results i have gotten so far from this little sixer. Thanks to all of you that have helped with advise and thru example, and thanks to Lidio at Alternative for the tune.
Maybe i can get a few more ponies, this week at the dyno, by playing with the timing and A/F, after all Iam running an 89 octane tune, so it may take 1 or 2 degrees more. Who knows what will happen...

Ya, my 14.73 stood for a while on these forums until you came knockin down on the door lol. With the auto to boot. Im going to have to do something to ensure my spot back.... maybe its time for some headers? lol

Im sure if you get that 2.238 60' time down to a 2.15 you will get a nice easy 14.60 or maybe a 14.55. Thats going to be ahrd to beat. Im hopin for a 14.6 the next time out at the track, as long as weather permits (not that it will rain, that it will be too hot lol)
