CAI not requiring a tune?

I know that in order to get the best results from a CAI you should get a tuner with it...but lets say I just want the CAI. Any CAIs out there that do not require a retune and do not cause any problems due to the fact that the car has not be retuned?

K&N is one. There are others out there that use an adapter to limit the flow that don't require a tune either.

I thought the BBK V6 unit claimed not to need a tune.
Has anyone used this?

So looks like the choices are BBK vs K&N. The K&N is alot more money than the BBK, so my question to you guys is is the K&N worth the extra money?

At least with K&N they will fight with the dealer if they try to void your warranty from installing the K&N Aircharger.
See K&N's FAQ: http://www.knfilters.com/faq.htm#9

The AirAid and MRT Cold Air Intakes both do not require an custom tune. I've had both on my old 05 V6. I preferred the AirAid over the MRT since the intake tube is shaped more logically and its not quite as bling-bling as the chromed tube on the MRT.

Although BBK states it does not need a tune I believe it requires a tune.

WMS racing can also be installed without a tune. They have installs for both V6 and GT. Although it is more complex to install (have to relocate the coolant reservoir), it is a nice system. You can also get better performance with it later by getting a tune for it. Mine should be here by Friday, at least I hope it is so I can install it this weekend.

My K&N states it does not need a tune, but I have one because it runs better and safer.
I advise against running any CAI without a tune on the V8.
The 6 is a different design of engine, I might be willing to forgo the tune.
