Autostarts

Hey all,

I've been thinking of getting an autostart for my Impala and maybe the Stang too. Does anyone know or a good brand? Prices?

Also, do you think it is a worthy investment? Pros cons?

Thanks for any input,

Well your gas mileage will suffer, but a warm car might be worth it.

I looked into getting it for my stang. But it would have been nearly $500 just for the remote start. (I have stick).

It wasn't worth that much to me.

how will it hurt the gas mileage?

check fordparts.com they have them for the autos.

seems like a good idea.

he probably is referring to the car idling for 5-10 minutes burning gas

normally id agree but when its 8 degrees out like it is right now .. the warm car is priceless

Yep, that's what I meant. While it's idling you are getting 0 MPG. Though I agree that a warm car is worth a little more at the pump.

I got one of those quick release keychains. Put ignition key on one and remote on the other. I run out to the car start it and run back in, with the remote. That way it's locked.

Sure someone could smash the window and drive off but how suspicious would it look for someone to be driving in 8 degree weather with the window all the way open.
