For you guys who CAN'T get rid of stock h-pipe w/ cats

I found a metal recycling place in Oklahoma City called Metal Check. They gave me $70 each for my cats. I had to cut them out with a torch, but it was worth it for $140.00.

I tried selling the stock h-pipe, but as most of you with this part laying around know, shipping usually killed the deal. Even if shipping wasn't an issue, the most I got offered for mine was $75.00.

Call around in your local areas. I've been told places on the east and west coast are paying a little more than $70 per cat. Good luck all.

If it wasn't for California's stupid smog laws I would totally do that. To bad I need to have it around every other year for smog testing.

For $140 I'd hang on to it, since it's 10 times that amount new.

This a funny that you should post this about the value of cats at this time...I just heard a story about some kids in this area using a sawsall to cut the cats out of cars and selling them in just the last couple of weeks. I thought some one was just making it up. Guess if there is money to be made I could believe it!!

They've done it up here to a couple of trucks and suvs (easy to get under).

If I'm not mistaken, you shouldn't have to smog your car til 2012.

They are well over a grand brand new, but try getting that for one.

They did require the title to the car to show that I didn't steal them............We have had a lot of cat thefts around here as well.

I'm a special case because I brought the car from Hawaii. So in order to get it registered here I had to get it smogged. So now I have to do it everyother year and no longer get the 2012 exemption.
