Are you faster in cold weather?

Am I just dreaming or is my 05 faster in cold weather? I have noticed that since it has gotten cold here in Indiana (25 degrees), the mustang is just more responsive quicker than it was in the summer/fall. I have always heard that cold air is better than warm for the engine but does it really make that much of a difference? Your Thoughts Please!!!

Makes a big difference for a supercharger. I baby mine during the Texas summers (ramming lots hot air into your engine is not a good thing). I have to be careful or my radiator temp will go way over to the right. Winter time is no problem. Never have to worry about water temps and can enjoy getting on it.

Cool-dry air is always better for a performance engine than warm-moist air. It boils down to the number of oxygen molecules available per cubic foot air. Warm air is less dense, thus less oxygen. Add in water vapor (i.e., humidity), which further displaces O2 molecules, and it's even worse. More oxygen... better performance... simple.

umm.. i'm thinking about inventing somthing.. Do you konw how they add cooling kits for computer CPU's? we'll if you could only manage a way to do that to engines.. Ummm..

Besides feeling the extra power made with cold dense air, some of you would love to have an exhaust that sounds as great as this engine does when it's -20C/-4F that I'm driving in right now. When this engines cold it's an awesome raspy sound.

i went to reno,nv from sacramento at midnight last week... it was 28 degrees F and below the whole way....i can feel my v6 pull going up the mountain....i had 1 other person and luggage... the drive is great!! windy woads, pitch black, noone on the road except for trucks...i had to drive with my high beams on most of the way.. great experience for those who like windy roads...made it to reno in less than 2 hours from sacramento...usually a 2 and half hour trip...

Yeah man, these cars love the cold air.. Every time I make a trip to the gas station in the middle of the night man! what a difference! The car just loves to pull through the gears and oooh how much better the exhaust sounds.

Yeah the last day the track was open it was just above freezing and I couldn't hook up at all. Not till they sprayed the sticky stuff down anyway. My car hooked up awesome when they did that.
They spent probably 15 minutes brushing the track and spraying down and I was next in line. I blew it because I let my engine get too cold and I bogged on the launch. The car hooked up real nice and it felt like I had M/Ts on the back. this is the pic. My rear tires look like they're rubbing the wheel wells.

I got my best runs when the weather was in the low 50s/high 40s.
