I'm assuming the XCalibrator Programming Cable is different from the USB cable used to connect your laptop to the SCT for data logging or is it the same?

Also can you recieve updates via email and upload them to the SCT with the USB cable?

I'm hoping it's different and used for something else because the XCalibrator Programming Cable is $50, thats one expensive USB cable

I believe the cable is for the XCAL 1, which was not USB. The XCAL2 just uses a standard USB cable to connect to the PC. And you can get tunes via email and upload them to the tuner, just can't go the other way.

The SCT2 USB cable is the same type USB cable you use to connect a PC to a printer. You can pick them up pretty cheap most anywhere.

Ok cool thanks that makes more sense.

So there is no way to backup the tunes to a laptop or desktop on the XCal just in case something happens to it or you loose it?

Nope, I asked Doug at Bamachips this exact question before I got mine and he told me you couldn't. He sent me the stock tune on a CD though so I do have a backup.

The USB cable is standard, you can get it Walmart or anywhere computer parts are sold. Same USB cable to hook up to your computer for downloading and editing tunes, same USB cable to hook up to you laptop to data log.

You can't download the custome tune from your Xcal2 to your PC. You must have the tunes emailed or mailed on disk from your tuner.
