X or H pipe with Borla Exhaust?
This is their S type (aka Stingers) straight through muffler. What type of pipe is recommended? I can't find any borla exhaust clips that have x-pipes or h-pipes on them. It's driving me crazy!!!
Also, for inspection purposes what do you guys do? Put back on stock pipes come time or the shady man with the black coat fix you up?
And last question
For 2005+ model cars i hear emissions testing is every four years. Fact or Fiction?

Don't know what's better for the stingers. I've got an X for sale in the classified section - $75 if you want to try it out.
It's a 8 bolt install... takes less than an hour including getting out the tools and jack. Just put the stocker back on if you've got an e-check, etc.

I highly recommend the Pypes O/R H Pipe with the Stingers!
Did you say sound clips?

I think the Pypes O/R H Pipe paired up with the (Borla) FRPP Stingers is the best exhaust combo for those with the stock manifolds. I've gone through 4 different axlebacks, and this is the best combo I've come up with.
The O/R H will make your exhaust soooo much louder! I picked mine up from Brenspeed back in Dec. of 05. It is by far the best bang for your buck mod out there!
I did get busted for having no cats here in CA, so I had to take off the O/R H (for now). So currently I am running the stock manifolds, stock mid pipe, and FRPP Stingers. It still sounds great, especially once I put my blower on!
Here's another sound clip with the stock midpipe and my Kenne Bell:

What state do you live in. That'll make all the difference when thinking about smog violation and inspections. Here in CA, we have 6 years until you need to get an inspection.
I'm a little worried about getting my air filter wet...
Like the clips!
I live in Texas. Seems the only way i can avoid getting busted with no cats is to have the car lowered. But yeah we got some ****s where i live. I had a cop pull me over just to write me my first ticket in 8 years - it was for no front plates!! Mustangs were not meant to have front license plates, esp. these!

I totally agree with S197 GT, IMO that is the best set up, I've got it as well, but with the resonators installed (it was a little too loud for me).
Here's a couple of clips of it at cold start with a few revs, I'm going to get out and make a couple taking off, but this is all I had time for...

Pretty much the same thing, just shorter...

How loud do you want it? If you want it really loud do the xpipe but still drone. If you want a lower tone, keep the hpipe. I had the bassani with xpipe, loud and a little higher pitched. Then just the borlas with stock hpipe, a little too loud and drone quite a bit at 1800-2000 rpm, but a lower tone than the bassanis. I am looking for the deeper tone, but with no drone. The closest I think I have come is from recommendations on the new gt500 exhaust, supposedly no drone, louder than stock. So thats what I have on order now. So hopefully that will help a little.
TacoBill's got Borla's with an O/R H here's the link to his vids.

I've got the O/R H with flowmasters and I love it. Believe me get the O/R H you won't be sorry.
