For something like this, unless you knew the guy you were dealing with here and a 25-32+K car, I would buy new when it came down to this question.

I believe because each sct tuner requires each mustangs pcm code that the sct tuner would be specific to one mustang only. I would buy new. If you order from Brenspeed they will want your pcm code. The following is part of a response from an email I sent them on ordering a new one -

The code we need is the processor code. The code can be found directly on the computer that is under the hood on the passenger side of the engine compartment. We wont need the VIN.

I would buy only from someone if I knew they know about these devices, make sure they're not locked for their car VIN, etc.

But even when you get one of these devices you need the new tunes for your car anyway. I wouldn't trust any preloaded tune on a used SCT. By the time you buy a set of new tunes, all financial advantages of buying the SCT programmer used are lost.

Conclusion: buy from a good source like Brenspeed, you'll know you're getting a new device, good support, and tunes for *your* car.

I agree with all of the above posters. Given the choice, I would definitely go with the new tuner over the used one. You definitely know what you're getting if you order from one of the vendors here.

Actually, on Ebay you will pay MAP pricing or very close to it, for ****ty canned tunes. Or you can pay 379 for one from us or brenspeed or bamachips, and it comes preloaded with 3 custom tunes.
