I know that there are reputable tuners out there for '05 Mustangs, and people have a wide choice through out the country. However, I have had a very satisfying experience with great customer service and an 87 octane( no other accessory) tune.
Bama Chips supplied me with an impressive 87 octane tune for an automatic. Doug also furnished other tunes for me, for when and if I decide to upgrade to a CAI and higher octane.
With the price of gas soaring and me not racing my '05 Stang GT, I wanted an increase in performance and improvement in auto shifting. Doug delivered marvelously. :worship:
The first tuner he sent me, for some reason did not hold the tunes he loaded. I received the malfunctioning SCT X-2 on Friday and called him when I had a problem with an error message. He Next Day shipped another tuner to me and it arrived on Saturday. This one worked like a champ. I loaded the 87 Octance Performance tune ( I have no other accessories or additions) and then took it for a test drive.
Holy buckets, what a ride. I drove out of my neighborhood and accelerated a little more than normal and was shocked (pleasantly) to hear the shift from 1st to 2nd gave me ( dare I say it? Yes, I dare!) RUBBER. No way This is an automatic, with the TC on for cripes sake.
I had to find a more secluded place and try it again. It was no mistake. From a standing stop without a total foot to the floor; tire squealing. Shift into 2nd, that heart throbbing sound of wasted tire mileage again. The shifts are crisp, no Wire -Throttle delay AND, my mileage increased by 3-4 mpg, even after having fun a couple of times.

Like I said at the beginnig. There are other good tuners around and I don't disparage them. But, I know I can highly recommend Doug's work at Bama Chips.

Awesome, glad you got a good tuner, from what I've read and heard that's an important thing with these cars. I'm looking around Kansas City for a good one. I used to use a place called MC Racing for my '02 SVT Focus, I might go with them for the Pony, unless someone knows of another good place in KC.....

Alex,
Doug did mine by email. I sent him the requested info about my car by email, we discussed what I wanted and he made the tunes and sent the tuner and tunes to me via USPS. He even gave me extra tunes on a CD along with the SCT programs to use the extra tunes and features on the tuner. I didn't have any face to face with him, just did it all by email and mail. He lives in Alabama and I live in Florida. SCT itself is about 8 miles from my house, but I heard good things about Bama Chips and do not regret it.

Hey Redfire05GT,

Welcome to the club of having one of the Best Tuners out there. As I've mentioned untold number of times on this forum, in my opinion, Doug at BamaChips can't be beat !! I've never experienced customer service in my life like Doug provided to me.

I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND Doug to all forum members for your CAI and SCT tuning needs.

Doug's an awesome tuner. Tuned my '00 Expedition and it shifts like a champ and pulls all the way to the redline.

No pinging in Houston August heat. A safe powerful tune.
