Wilwoods are on!!

Finally got the Wilwood brakes finished last night. Haven’t had a chance to clean the wheels but here are a couple of shots. What a pita of an install, I love the brakes but would not recommend them if you don’t have access to a first class mechanic.

The fronts went on fine but the rears are not correctly designed for this car. I have the correct rear kits but they would not fit without some modifications. The rears use an emergency brake that is a drum inside the rotor and you have to remove the axles to install the brackets. The stock bolts would not clear part of the bracket and the bolt heads had to be ground down. Hooking up the emergency brake cables required some real ingenuity, also had to make our own spacers to correctly center the calipers on the rotors.

The brakes are fantastic and stop the car so fast it’s unreal but know what you are getting into if you get these.

So what size wheels do you have with what offset and backspacing? What Willwood kit is it?

The wheels are 18x9 Razors with 24mm offset and I have plenty of clearance. The kit is Wilwood #140-9110D 14 inch front and #140-9228D 13 inch rear, great brakes tough install. If anyone is thinking about this kit let me know, my mechanic can save you a lot of downtime.
