Why Kevin of Wicked Motorsports Should Really be Called “The Mustang Whisperer”
Why Kevin of Wicked Motorsports Should Really be Called “The Mustang Whisperer”
I’m at work but I HAD to post this right away!
Just got my 2007 GT vert back from Wicked Motorsports (operating out of Sansone Ford here in New Jersey) last night, and I’m absolutely floored! I had previously used another shop, and this was my first experience with Wicked, who was referred by my friend Paul (Maverick to TMSers).
I had gotten tired with my car…it has rattles (all kinds, lol), was smelly (gasoline), the exhaust kept hitting the body, and she needed some TLC (due to my neglect). I wasn't even driving it anymore...just sat in the garage because I was embarrassed of the noises over our bumpy NJ roads. So I turned to Kevin to fix the exhaust and richness, and see if any more power could be scavenged out of my setup. Then once I was in love with the car again, I figured I’d be motivated to fix the other issues too!
Well, Kevin did NOT disappoint!!! Here are the results. Only things that actually changed were a new dyno tune and going from an off-road shorty pipe to a catted shorty pipe. I’ll take pictures of the dyno sheet tonight::
Old numbers: 292 HP/313 FT/LBS TQ
Wicked numbers: 302HP/325 FT/LBS TQ
Gains: 10HP/12FT/LBS TQ
Holy cow, I wasn’t expecting that!!!
Obviously different dynos, but both SAE numbers. The car is no longer running rich, doesn’t smell, and the cats really tamed the sound nicely – it sounds more like a stock 5.0 now – rumbly and screams at WOT, yet overall very refined!!!!
Not only that, he even WASHED my car for me, even put tire shine on her shoes! For the first time in a long time, I couldn’t call her “PigPen”
So I’m still working on tightening the car up…have the stock panhard bar so the axle is off center a bit, etc. But she feels like a new car power and acceleration-wise. I'd recommend Kevin to anyone. He put up with my fussiness, worrying and nagging, replied to texts after-hours, and took time to show me the facility and his other projects when we picked the car up. He is a class act, and it was worth the 100 miles each way to work with him!
